Junior Handicaps

Posted by: user250466 | Sun 2nd Aug 2009 22:24 | Last Reply

As a junior golfer, I would like to be able to establish a handicap.  The problem is I am only 6 1/2 and unlikely to play 18 holes in one round.  Will the site address this issue for other junior golfers that may be using the site who mainly play 9 hole rounds

Hi, thanks for the question.

We have this on the radar to complete especially with the recent CONGU update allowing golf clubs to 'at their discretion' use 9 hole rounds in establishing an handicap.

Unfortunately the issue is around the SSS which is required for handicap purposes and generally an 18 hole course will only have an SSS for 18 holes.

There is the option that for 9 hole rounds used in this way the 9 hole SSS could mirror the 9 hole par.  Whilst this may not be accurate it does help as an indicator.
