GS Par 3 Championship

Posted by: user356537 | Wed 28th May 2014 11:10 | Last Reply

I am organising a competition on the infamous Par 3 Cromwell Course at Nailcote Hall on Monday 25th August 2014 (Bank Holiday).

The format of the event will be a friendly 9 hole fourball betterball competition with a shotgun start at 1pm to allow those that haven't played the Cromwell Course a chance to get familiar with the challenging layout.

At approx. 2.45pm, the main competition will then follow - an 18 hole individual medal round. Once again, this will be a shotgun start. Players will receive a stroke allowance of 1/2 of their Golfshake handicap or CONGU handicap if they have one. The maximum hadicap allowed is 28 giving a maximum stroke allowance over 18 holes of 14.

The cost of playing 27 holes will be £20. Those who have expressed an interest will be asked to pay a depoist of £10 to confirm their spot with the balance due two weeks prior to the event. An optional sweep of £5 will be collected on the day and will form a cash prize fund (for those contributing). In addition, I will provide some nearest the pin prizes and Darren has said he will also provide some prizes as well.

The numbers are strictly limited to 36 on a first come, first served basis with the deposit having been paid to confirm your place.

If you want to take part please register your interest via the Events pages - http://www.golfshake.com/golf/view/9650/

Any questions, please let me know.

Dave, pleased to hear that you'll be joing us. I'm playing there with Daniel Alvarez on Wednesday evening. I'll get some photos if the weather is decent.

Initially keen to join but then realised that it was a handicap event and one could find oneself on fourteen holes having to hit fourteen holes in one to win those. Although I am a devout believer in positivity that task was just too much even for me to get my head round. But, I'm sure that I will get my head around socialism one day. It is a matematical fact that on a par three course the poorer player is massively disproportionately helped a par 3 course.
