Finally, but does it count ???
Hi all I just got to share my great news with ya all, I played at my local club today afternoon and I am completely over the moon as for the first time ever I broke 80. My actual score was 79, I had 2 fantastic and yes flukey birdies and 7 pars. Man this feels so great.......the only thing is we had to play off the winter mats so I dont know if this score actually counts, because they are slightly in front of the yellow tees.
Hell I just had to put it into the handicap calculator regardless anyway to see what that would mean, I'll delete the round if it doesnt count though !?!?!
The strange this is the course was actually covered in leaves all over the fairways and greens, but for the first time I think I actually played and enjoyed the full round (apart from one hole which i shot a triple bogey on). Not sure if this makes sense but it just didnt seem like the pressure golf that I usually play and put myself under. My partner shot an 83.

Congratulations on a fine round of golf, it is always satisfying to break 80.
Now, in respect of handicap, under normal rules this would not count as it was not a competition and was not played from the back tees and it used to be that winter rules were not allowed when playing for handicap alterations.
I realise things are different these days so of course I may be way behind the times.

Oh man golf and the dam rules lol
ok so does this mean i have to delete the scorecard that I enetered into the handicap round thing then ?? i presume so......not to worry I have stuck my card up on the wall for everyone to drool over hahaha
Thanks for the encouragement guys, Im sure I'll be trying my hardest to try it again, but I think it may be a while before it happens, as I said 2 really lucky birdies helped, but if if can shoot low 80's then i'll still be happy with that..... dam consistency is always a porblem......however the best part is this year i havent experienced the fear of golf courses before I tee up, usually I get a lil scared about length of the course, difficulty, etc, now Im trying to be more positive and beleive me that really helps...

Played Cams Hall today, £5 in the pot with 8 of us playing, split into two fourballs. I had accumulated 10 points after 8 holes, but then proceeded to cover the last 10 holes in two over par gross for another 28 points which with a total of 38 was enough to win £40. Myself and my partner also took another fiver off our opponents in matchplay, beating them 3 and 2.
Tomorrow is Blue Mountain Golf Club. I think they want their money back.

It is always nice to play well, Danny, sadly it hasn't been the case these past few months, but one always lives in hope.
