Never played in fog before.....

Posted by: user40826 | Sun 4th Nov 2007 19:19 | Last Reply

until TODAY!!

Man, that was a tough round. Shot an 89 which I am really pleased with. This photo was taken on the tee on the Par 5 3rd.

The tree on the left is about 150 yards away.

We were warned in the club house that the club would except no responsiblility for injury to you or others - have you got golf insurance? Steve asked us before we went out.

Quite an interesting round were the three ball in front had to keep shouting FAIRWAY CLEAR and then after teeing off GREEN CLEAR!! Very amusing for 18 holes!

Not played in snow yet, but bad frost, struggled to see the ball on the fairways!

Darren, why is there no option for fog on when you enter your round??

Madness is probably the reason the option isn't there

To be honest though I have played 5 holes in torrential rain, finally giving up after we could only see 20 yards in front the rain was so hard. The boss had taken 8 of us out for the day so we felt obliged to play on, given he was in the group in front of us. And yes he did finish the full 18 and most didn't !

Chris,

The only time I have played in real bad fog I had a great round as you could only really tee off with irons so I hit almost every fairway which in turn meant I hit almost every green.

Nice to see your not a 'fair weather golfer'!!!

I am afraid that I am one now, Wayne. I played today but it became a little too cold for me during the back nine and the golf started to decline, because of it.

I am playing again tomorrow at Cams Hall, Fareham and I have got my thermals out of mothballs, ready.

Tomorrows temperature is borderline for me as I don't play when it gets below 11 degrees.

I need the sun on my back to swing with any form of fluency, but I suppose at 70 one must be grateful to still be on the course.

I need to be in the Algarve with you.

Not a problem, Wayne, I was not sniffing for a game in Feb with the rest of you, just know how nice it is out there at that time as I have spent many weeks in  the Algarve playing golf over the years.

Have you ever thought of playing in the "Almond Blossom Championhship at Palmares which is usually held late ajnuary early Feb when all the almond blossom is out in force.

If I haven't given up the game, then I would love to join you all next year.

Must not spoil the party now, David, but thanks for your support.

But which is worse....A fair weather golfer, or a golfer who doesn't know the rules?

I hope that wasn't a dig at me Mr Marshall.  At least I'm making the effort to learn them.

I'm watching you know.....
