Played today in the frost, as usual the course was presented to the highest standard possible. Weldone to the greensman. The course showed signs of having the fairways cut reccently though some courses in the area aren't managing to cut their due to the weather of late, once again weldone to the greensman. Even with frost on the course this course was still a joy to play. Yes the facilities are basic, but the welcome is friendly and the cost is fairly priced.

Unfortunately since the reopening the course have decided to taken a step to increase the cost for a round from £10 for 18 holes to £12 for 9 holes. Which now makes it one of the most expensive courses. Even though their website indicates different. Was meet with a unhelpful response from the individual staff member.

Just to add we will not be playing there again. We drove from Cheltenham to play and passed many courses, we won’t be now.

beautiful course

We had a perfect round on the well-kept course. While other courses were swimming in mud, somehow Welford remains drained. great views, smooth greens and fairways like soft carpet!

Always a pleasure

Played many times over the years, always enjoy coming back. Not a traditional club in one sense that it hasn't really got a club house but works fine without it. Plenty of food places near if you fancy some grub or drink before play (or after, nice pub by the river :-) ) I suppose its set up to get round without having to spend ages finding for your ball in the rough but its perfectly manicured, with good fairways and greens, bunkers need a bit of work. Greens look good on the first nine but a bit bobbly, maybe needs the roller on them. Fairways and greens excellent on the back nine even though greens on the slow side. You still have to think about your shots even though not particularly long. Some lovely views all round especially off the 3rd green. Love the holes with water hazards especially the feature hole 18, with water nearly surrounding the green. Will be back soon :-)

Wide open well groomed fairways

Here is a course that needs (and gets) constant mowing! There are some interesting holes amongst some mundane. The booking system is hard work and confusing. One 18 hole booking results in 6 emails confirming yet not one tells you whether you have booked the front or the back nine It's a good day out.

good course

course very wet but expected after the rain over the past 48 hours fairways all ok except in a couple of places greens very good considering the weather conditions. due to covid conditions club house, changing room all closed.

Family run golf course ..... take great pride in the corse and do everything possible to maintain it in top condition every single day of the year ! . A hidden gem of a course which has a different Challenge on every hole . Well designed to keep play flowing and in a beautiful location..

Excellent condition

Recently started playing again and joined mates who are regulars, great little course and a good challenge for all levels and will become a regular myself
