I've played this course a couple of times so felt I could supply a review for the Website.

The Course is a Short 9 Hole Municiple Course ran by the Local Council. The Shop is located within one of the Recreation Ground Buildings but not clearly marked as such.

The Tee Points are just Mats/Markers on the Normal Fairway so some are not easily located. The Scorecard does hold a Map but it isn't 100 clear. Playing the Course you are unable to locate the Green easily from the Tee and there is not Hole Map to guide you.

The Maintenance of the Fairways isn't too bad but some of the Greens are covered with Mole-Holes.

It's a Nice Cheep Course if you are a Rank Beginner but I wouldn't use it otherwise.

Have played this course hundreds of times as a junior but not so much nowadays.

For saying it's owned and maintained by the local council the fairways are usually in good condition and mown regularly. Where it is really lacking though are the poor greens, with many very bobbly from dirt and debris, not to mention the scuff marks and holes in some.

Also lacking are any proper tees. The first hole is not marked at all so any newcomer to the course will have no chance of knowing where to tee up. It could also do with some on-course directions to show exactly where the tees are located, as some are hidden away from plain sight.

For playability it will certainly test all golfers with accurate shots required on some holes and a well-placed (albeit natural) ditch running across the 4th hole (Par 4) which can be very testing depending on your tee shot.

The par 4's provide ample birdie opportunities with all being easy to reach the green in two shots.

The only downer of course is that when you do reach the green you're often faced with the poor conditions and resulting missed putt.

All being said though this is a great course for all beginners to learn on and it has a cheap green fee as well.

Don't expect any beers after your game though because there are no such facilities attached to this course.

Small Municple 9 hole course, with no facilities.

I had difficulty locating the correct green from the tees on some holes.

I must say it's a great course for the beginner but not for someone with more experience.

Closed

Have contacted them and been told it is closed as maintenance came to a halt. Pity as would be handy for beginners
