Canadian courses have to close over the winter for obvious reasons, and we played on the second day of the open season when many of the fairways were still scorched with ice marks. The greens were in amazingly good condition - quite fast and almost every one is sneakily contoured - and overall the course was a real pleasure to play. It's fairly forgiving to those who count distance more important than direction off the tee, and the bunkers and water hazards aren't too intrusive, offering a very fair (and pretty) test of skill. The clubhouse serves excellent food at very reasonable prices and staff, who seem to be everywhere, are very courteous. You'll need a club member to sign you in as a guest. Well worth a visit.
