Slow play / Society golf
Played the Nicklaus a number of times. It is a good course with some very interesting holes. However, we were behind a society who did not know the rules introduced to speed up play. Our round was five hours and as a two ball it was painfully slow, waiting on every shot behind groups who did not care how it was affecting everyone behind them.

Good course but a bit wet!
Attended with a society last year but couldn't play this course as it was too wet. Got on it this year but it was quite wet in places. Most of the greens were well maintained and pretty quick. Some of the holes were challenging and I?d love to play here on a hard track to accept a better challenge. There were some beautiful holes to play, 18 especially. Give it a go if you get the chanceReviewer Rating

Nice course
Fairways were in poor condition, probably due to the warm summer. Long walks between tees with very poor signage.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 101 Handicap: 23)

The better of the two courses.
Carden Park itself is a lovely place to stay and play with excellent facilities in the Hotel itself. The Nicklaus course is more open than the tree lined Cheshire course with some scenic holes throughout, the 17th should be the signature finish in front of the Hall itself. The rough is unforgiving and the grass a little long on our visit which penalised those who left the fairway. Bunkers were a bit hit and miss with a lack of sand a problem. Staff in the club were excellent and nothing was any trouble ,the guys/girls looking after your clubs and the buggies especially helpful.

Good course, tee boxes ok, greens being winter prepared, can be wet in winter. Overall decent but not as good or interesting as the Cheshire course.

Thuis is a far better couirse than the Cheshire one at this hotel. Bunkers are well maintained, greens and fairways too.
I'll repeat about the Clubhouse what I said on the Cheshire review - the carpet stinks and either needs taking up or a few bucket loads of Febreeze thrown on it. It didn't rain all weekend so golfers bringing in water is noit the problem. Aso pints of beer at £5.25 is not on. Spend the day here playing golf (and not on the Cheshire course) and then go out for a meal/drink.

The course is good but they have let the rough grow and the course looks a bit untidy
