Course Closed

As of the 1st February 2024 Lorca Golf Course will be closed until further notice. I understand that they are considering a remodelling of the course along with complete Green Renewal. However this is still to be confirmed.

intimidating for high handicappers

Played this course a couple of times beginning of November. There are lots of very deep ravines which require a good drive and long carry off the tee, with high-risk bail-out areas. Par 3s also have ravines which can be carried about 150 yards, but have very little green to land on. The greens were well-maintained but the fairways were poor, bare in many places and like concrete in others.
Bar service was very good, with various tapas produced regularly. The slope index rating shows incorrect handicaps. Cost for a non-member is €50 per round, without a buggy

The ravens and narrow fair ways make this course very challenging the course maps are of little use as they don't show the bridges and the undulating terrain.

Fairly new course, bunkers were poor as was the cutting of the holes.
Green keepers could do better.

Visually beautiful course to go round. Just has that unfair element of lack of income to make it top level. Absolutely deserves being played which I/we have done twice this year. Staff there were very welcoming so deserving of being busier especially for the price we paid. Played June 15th with greens settling in after hollow timing but regardless still love this course. Great challenges and great scenery almost every hole. Highly recommend playing even though we have played the excellent Aguillon I would still visit Lorca for a change.

Challenge but achievable

As a member off am always amazed at how many visitors don't enjoy it. Play to the tees you are shown rather than playing to the tees you normally play. Carry's are long off the yellows or the whites, but there are easier tees, so play those. In particular if you have never played here before. 4 pars 3s of which three are a challenge, stroke index 1 is the par 5 fifth, 15 is a water hole, 17th for me is the toughest hole on the course. 18th doesn't give you an easy ride home either.

Love the course

As a member here I love the course and the variation in each hole. Three challenging par 3s, 6th, 8th & 12th. Some par 4s that need good course management. 3rd, 13th, 15th 1th and 18th. Challenging par 5s on 5th and 11th.

The course is very well maintained with good variation in the holes. We were lucky that there was very little wind and the course was not too difficult and the score was good. There are several holes that require Ravines and drag the field may not be appropriate for beginners. Green are fantastic! If you are looking for a quiet friendly place, good golf and staff will not disappoint.

A most interesting course, better enjoyed because we had a buggy - it is quite hilly. Some great little twists to some of the holes.

Lovely course set in hills just outside of Lorca. Some challenging holes with carries over ravines. Once your tee shot is over the ravines there is normally a challenging second into the green. A couple of par 3s have long carries to make a par let alone a birdie. 8th, 15th and 17th three great holes and challenging to make a par.
