Mr T

It's a very short course but in lovely surroundings quite tricky to play and very hard to hold the greens. The owners are very lovely people and it's a pleasant atmosphere to play in. The holes are quite short therefore very quick to navigate, pace of play can determine on what time you tee off. It's a perfect place to play if you are starting back to play after time out from the game or if you're a complete novice, plenty of wildlife to be observed with big wide fairways in the main. Not for the serious golfer but fun and challenging on some holes.

Nice parkland course

Have played here before, but on the day I visited, the fairways had long grass, as they hadn't been mowed for a few days. And given that the course was a little damp, there was very little run - disappointing for me, not being a long hitter. A pity, really, as I'm convinced that with more attention, this could be a real gem. Being a nine-holer, and pay as you go, it suffers somewhat from inexperienced golfers lacking in etiquette, in terms of not waving through quicker golfers, and not repairing divots and pitch marks.

a very challenging 9 or 18 holer, with plenty of interest. No easy, despite the shortness of the Course.

Lovely little Course

Great little 9 holer in good condition. Tricky greens. A fair test for a high handicapper.

A lovely setting

A pretty Course - short but challenging.in a very attractive environment.. A couple of greens not quite up to standard - but nothing to spoil the enjoyment. ?10.00 for 9 holes, and ?15.00 for 18 - is certainly value for money. Suffers a little in inclement weather - but what Course doesn't ? I've played it several times, and will continue returning, which says everything, I suppose. Limited refreshment facilities. Toilets very good and clean.

Heavy conditions after quite a bit of rain - but quite fair, if one stayed on the fairway! Off it - difficult to play out.

This course is in a really good condition. Although half of the holes are par 3's it's still s good challenge. Be warned though its very hilly. Played last year after just starting out, but on this trick I knocked of 30 shots. Great fun.

Ashton and Stodday is a nine hole course with five par 4s and four par 3s. It is right next door to Lancaster Golf Course and since it was bought by the current owners they have worked hard to improve all aspects of the course. I regularly play here and whilst it is not long, it is fairly tight. This applies especially to the par 3 5th particularly if the tee boxes are set to their maximum length. Higher handicap golfers will enjoy it here as you have a good chance of scoring well as long as you keep it straight.
