Lovely track
I love this course every hole is a challenge the par 3s are all well protected by bunkersThe tee boxes need a little attention the fairways are in good condition plus the rough has been cut back making the pace of play better.
Greens run true

Awesome Views
I have played here a few times and it is a very good course, there isn't a clubhouse but I do not visit new places to see how good the clubhouse is! there aren't any practice facilities but the staff are very friendly and you can order coffee, bacon rolls and they have a selection of snacks and cold drinks too. the course isn't long although it has some tough holes and keeping it in play is the key here as the rough (like a cabbage patch) is very unforgiving. The greens are true if a tad slow. wonderful views from a lot of the holes, well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

course. Yet somehow clandon retains an element of enjoyment; lovely views, interesting layouts and a solid test for most us playing with a handicap of 15 and above. But like many school a report you feel 'could do better'. With a little tlc this could become a very good golf course but the owners 'must try harder' and resolve what are pretty basic issues.

The greens and fairways are rock hard at present, which is difficult to understand given the soaking winter and spring that have just passed. This makes it very difficult to hit even wedges and short irons into greens as they invariably bounce straight off the back. Take one less club on approach shots.
Each hole feels distinctive and poses a different challenge. We played off the white tees, which gives several long par 3s around 190 yards and par 5s between 560-600. 13,14, 15 is a great loop that criss crosses a chalk quarry, all great holes that wouldn't be out of place on a championship course. As mentioned above there are many attractive, well-designed holes throughout the round, which made it so disappointing that the greens, surrounds and tee boxes were in such poor nick.
Unfortunately greens are in a state, suffering from sort of moss and almost every one appearing baked out, suffering cracks and holes. Putting was a total lottery and this really reduced the quality of the round, which otherwise would have been superb. The tee boxes didn't appear to have been mowed for a few days and tufts of grass sprouting all over.
Great for a practice round, not for a comp. Will definitely go back to visit next Summer and hope that the greens have been sorted out as this will be a great course if so. Staff very friendly, good bacon rolls.

The greens weren't the best I've played on, but i think that the time of year had something to do with that. They were very firm though, which was amazing given the rain the previous night. I would imagine that this course is playable for pretty much all of the year.
Only a portakabin for a clubhouse currently, so don't expect to sit down for a drink afterwards.
I got a deal on the price which made it a bit of a bargain, but I am not sure it is worth the cost of the normal green fees.

Most frustratingly this time was the rudeness of the starter. We were a 2 ball teeing off behind a 3 ball (3 relatively elderly men with a dog). As it's a short par 4, we waited until they had played their 2nd shots and started walking to the green before teeing off. As we walked off the tee the starter asked us to keep pace and accused us of being slow already, then threatened to come and check on us in his buggy during the round. This was after 1 shot and we played as soon as we felt it was safe! We could not believe it.

Great value course
Once again came up trumps with the rain with many other courses closed or restricted. Considering the weather, in great condition and greens fast and difficult.Reviewer Rating
