Nick
With all the wet weather we have recently had the course has remained open. It drains well and the greens have remained in remarkably good condition, especially considering all the visitors who come along when other courses in the area are closed.A lot of work has been done to clear scrub make the course more attractive and easier to find wayward shots!

Great value course
In good nick again including the greens. No big clubhouse but a portakabin with all you need including hot food if required. Quite generous fairways but also some quite devllish holes which will sort you out!Par 3's no pushover either.

Unexpectedly good!
I was very impressed with this course. The bunkers could do with some improving (filling mostly) but the course, generally, was great. There is no proper clubhouse so be prepared for that but the green fees for the course with excellent views are well worth it.Reviewer Rating

good VFM
Shortish open course and unlikely to lose your ball. Let down at the moment by the poor greens. The mixing of two balls and four balls can mean if you are the latter that your round gets longer and longer as you let the two-balls through.Reviewer Rating

Mixed day
The weather was pretty atrocious with heavy rain and some strong breeze. That said, the location of the course allows it to remain largely dry underfoot and the greens were for the most part slow but true. A shame that the wildlife have taken to digging up tee boxes and the edges of some greens. If it weren't for that, you will be hard pressed to beat value for money.Repeating gripe (and not necessarily the clubs fault) - other players seem incapable of raking the bunkers after paying a visit. Expect to find a crater or similar awkward lie if you get caught.

Awesome Views
I have played here a few times and it is a very good course, there isn't a clubhouse but I do not visit new places to see how good the clubhouse is! there aren't any practice facilities but the staff are very friendly and you can order coffee, bacon rolls and they have a selection of snacks and cold drinks too. the course isn't long although it has some tough holes and keeping it in play is the key here as the rough (like a cabbage patch) is very unforgiving. The greens are true if a tad slow. wonderful views from a lot of the holes, well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

course. Yet somehow clandon retains an element of enjoyment; lovely views, interesting layouts and a solid test for most us playing with a handicap of 15 and above. But like many school a report you feel 'could do better'. With a little tlc this could become a very good golf course but the owners 'must try harder' and resolve what are pretty basic issues.

The greens and fairways are rock hard at present, which is difficult to understand given the soaking winter and spring that have just passed. This makes it very difficult to hit even wedges and short irons into greens as they invariably bounce straight off the back. Take one less club on approach shots.
Each hole feels distinctive and poses a different challenge. We played off the white tees, which gives several long par 3s around 190 yards and par 5s between 560-600. 13,14, 15 is a great loop that criss crosses a chalk quarry, all great holes that wouldn't be out of place on a championship course. As mentioned above there are many attractive, well-designed holes throughout the round, which made it so disappointing that the greens, surrounds and tee boxes were in such poor nick.
Unfortunately greens are in a state, suffering from sort of moss and almost every one appearing baked out, suffering cracks and holes. Putting was a total lottery and this really reduced the quality of the round, which otherwise would have been superb. The tee boxes didn't appear to have been mowed for a few days and tufts of grass sprouting all over.
Great for a practice round, not for a comp. Will definitely go back to visit next Summer and hope that the greens have been sorted out as this will be a great course if so. Staff very friendly, good bacon rolls.

The greens weren't the best I've played on, but i think that the time of year had something to do with that. They were very firm though, which was amazing given the rain the previous night. I would imagine that this course is playable for pretty much all of the year.
Only a portakabin for a clubhouse currently, so don't expect to sit down for a drink afterwards.
I got a deal on the price which made it a bit of a bargain, but I am not sure it is worth the cost of the normal green fees.

Quarry Ball Catcher
Great course and value for money. Greens were very good considering the drought conditions. Off the fairway tricky as they have left natural meadows - look lovely but hell if your ball goes in! The quarry hole, I might as well just toss a ball in and go to the drop zone. All in my head, it's not a big carry.Reviewer Rating

Pace of play so slow due to tee off times being crammed in and double tee off on 1st & 9th.
No clubhouse just a tent and food poor quality and service slow

Well drained course
Great course to play in wet months, built on chalk, no puddles, all bunkers are self draining , no club house or bar , just a portacabin reception/cafe with a tent to sit in. Great views, well landscaped , super long hold 6 - 600 yds from White tees, no practice areas.Reviewer Rating
