First time round here and great value for money. Front nine a little flat but plenty of opportunities to score well. Back mine much more interest and challenge. Reasonable condition for when we played. Food is off site at local pub but extremely good.

Great value at £10 for my afternoon nine. Good condition fairways and greens. No thrills, no water but great views and friendly atmosphere.

Beautiful views and interesting course

Really enjoyable. Course is always dry on the chalk downs with fantastic views north. Some interesting holes. Basic club facilities but they do a great bacon bap!

Excellent

Course is very dry. Great views spanning miles of countryside. Great holes around the quarry. Plays like a links, if there's 20mph of wind it is tough. Par 3s no pushover, greens fast; very enjoyable.

Gem

What a great public course, chalk based so drains well. Lovely to play. Apparently the views are amazing, but it was so misty we couldn't see, but it doesn't take away how good this little course is. Cheap to play and worth having a go, will be back for sure.

Very good course

Because of it's geographical situation, and the fact that the course is over chalk, Clandon obviously drains well. The course on 19th had only two very small squelchy patches, both easily avoided, and this at the start of winter compared to some other courses which, in my opinion, are no more than quagmires (in golfing terms anyway). The ground is therefore practically dry at any time of the year. It's a good testing course (5660 yds), especially with the quarry to get over on the 15th. The reason for 'Fair' below against 'Club & Facilities' is that Clandon only has portakabin facilities, but even that is run well and certainly doesn't affect one's enjoyment of the round.

Great Course!

What an excellent course! Forget the limitations of the clubhouse, this course is a hidden gem! If you're looking for a challenging course with a bit of forgiveness then this is the one for you. My friend and I are a 22 and 24 HC respectively and found it most enjoyable, great value after 2pm and easily accessible from the A3. We will definitely visit again real soon.

Very friendly course, make you feel very welcome. The facilities are basic but adequate, course is getting better all the time and summer play you have a real challenge as the rough will punish wayward shots, fairways are generous though. Very good value for money.

I'm a bit biased as I am a member here. This is a new course without a clubhouse, however It does have portacabins with a small shop and food. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The course itself has a great layout with a links type feel. Holes 13, 14 and 15 can make or break your round as you turn for home. There are great views of the Surrey countryside from all around the course and being built on chalk the course is clean and dry throughout the year. Bring your straight game during the summer, the rough then is punishing

The only downside is some visitors, for some reason will not rake bunkers or repair pitchmarks. These people should be barred from playing any golf, anywhere. It is disrespectful and ignorant.

Overall, a great little club and course and I would recommend a visit.( Don't forget your pitchmark repair tool.)

Lovely course to play, some challenging holes where ball placement is key. Greens can be a bit slow but this course is still maturing. Holds up very well through the winter and have never played off of a temporary green or tee. Staff very friendly. Will be a very good course as it matures. Handicap 11, shot 78.

Clandon is quite a basic course, however is still an adequate test, with some challenging holes and is excellent value for money given its location. The facilities are also basic but you get what you pay for. The greens are a little mossy, and the bunker quality varies from hole to hole. Don't expect the world and you will be pleasantly surprised.
