It's a fairly new course so the fairways are not perfect....greens were running fast...nice long challenging course with plenty of interest....would play it again with a better swing.

Great value green fees booked through Tee off times for this course, well worth a phone call.
Thought the course was in good condition considering the amount of rain had come down but seems to drain very well.Good layout and challenging plus long but definitely worth playing.

Just played the course this weekend and to be expected there was a bit of standing water, played off mats on the tee which is fine and the rest of the course was in play which was great. The greens were great and the general tidiness go the course was good, hats off to the people that work on the course. Will certainly play agin and maybe consider becoming a member. \\Don\'t listen or take in what people write. Give this course ago as I think it was great and good value, only u can make ur mind up after giving it ago. \\On the down side the cafe was terrible, far too expensive and I agree with an earlier post by Paul. You\'ll get a better bacon butty in maccies. I spoke to the gentleman on the desk and he assured me things are on the change in moving back to where the clubhouse should be and the food will improve.. \Good luck to this place, I look forward to a bacon butty with bacon in it. \

Just played today and I can not understand the last reviewer as I found the summer greens in play and in extremely good condition for this time of year. The bunkers had been raked as I\'ve played a few other courses recently and they were hard and holding water. If the last reviewer was right how was it that all tees were booked as we were lucky to get a cancellation!! PS Playing of all tee mats.

Great facilities and complex consisting of Driving Range,Chipping area,Practice putting green with great contours and 9 hole Par 3 course which we played first and got us in the mood.We found the 18 hole course challenging for us but very much enjoyed the different variation of hole layouts and great large greens. The only downside is the clubhouse is not open yet but the driving range does sell good food with a great view and live sports being shown.Great value.

Played today and agree greens not perfect due to dry spell but running true.Fairways were surprisingly green and found the course a good challenge .I can understand the previous golfers remarks but this is a new course and needs time to mature but I can say I enjoyed the layout and will defiantly be back.

Very long course off ladies tees but one has to concentrate always to get a reasonable score which I did thankfully.
I have played many easier courses but enjoyed the challenge and came back with my playing partners and booked again for next week which tells you what we thought of the course.

Our golf club closed so me and two others played this course for the first time and even though wet in places greens were quite firm which surprised us all. We now know where to come in future but also this summer too.

All in all, I thought that the North West National was a good test of golf. the tee boxes and greens are not the best around but the fairways were in good condition. The course is relatively long but the longer holes tend to have wider fairways to encourage you to have a go. The back 9 features some shorter holes but more thought has to be given to how to play each hole due to the strategic placing of tees and the hazards on the course. Parts of the greens are patchy but in the main the ball ran straight and true and at a consistent pace. I will definitely play here again and will consider organising a society day here.

Always find this course gets better and better even through the winter the summer greens are in play and also fast and true. When the clubhouse is in use this will become a top venue so have a game now before prices go up.

After all the rain recently I was told to play this course as the drainage was exceptional.Well I can say my mates and I were pleasantly surprised to find that the greens were true and fast and the fairways were firm giving a good run on without plugging.Great layout and will test the best.I was surprised how busy the place was,so the word must be getting out.We certainly will be back.
PS.Great grub as well.

I have played the North West National Course a few times now and after the initial surprises that the course brings most of the holes are pretty similar.
On the front nine there are quite a few back to back long straight holes that are not too challenging, the back nine however is a bit more tricky with some excellent tee positions and well placed hazards.
I do like the course and hope that the club house will be finished sometime in the near future as the course has great potential to be one of the best in the north west!

This course had an attractive layout, even playing off the winter mats (which I must say were the best I've ever played off) was quite long, somewhere between blues and yellows. Greens are quite big, but apart from a couple had a good condition for winter. I got an online special for £9 and depsite the rain was excellent value. The fairways aren't vert tight and are forgiving, but with water or OB on most holes would punish very bad shots. The course was in generally good condition for the wet conditions. You do need to be striking the ball well to get a decent score. I play off 8-9 and scored 8 over, so a fair test.
Just one warning the former 18th has been split from a 600 yd par 5 to a 350ish par 4 and a 120ish par 3, apparently just whilst some remodelling goes on until april.
