new course

First time playing this course and I have to say it dissapointed me in that it was rather featureless on most of the holes.....the greens were okay but the pace of play was extremely slow and it didn't help that a 2 ball in front of me could have let me through, as a single player, on numerous occasions but chose not to

Played it for the first time on a twilight deal. Very good value. A little bit confusing find a few holes but, you get there in the end. Quirky holes on the back nine. Greens were in good nick. Would recommend. Very friendly staff.

Relatively flat course with an interesting mix of holes, those on the sea side being the more challenging and by far the most pleasing on the eye. With few blind shots it helps the pace of play although the criss crossing of fairways at times can create congestion.

Updated review on Seahouses. Toilets not as smelly this time well done to them. Clubhouse staff very friendly and I was over the moon to get a choice off the standard main course menu for our food. None of this no choice you'll get what your given rubbish that some courses insist on. Condition of the course was okay quite a few bald patches around but after very heavy rain yesterday it had drained very well. Goes without saying that seahouses has a smattering of excellent holes and many are not for the feint hearted as it always seems to be windy at the course. I've still got a problem with the layout of the course especially over the road from the club house. In general it's a nightmare for cross over fairways, confusing greens next to each other and in general being very crammed together. On a couple of occasions we had people putting out and two groups waiting to tee off in very close proximity and chose to wait for people to clear the green and for all 8 to tee off before walking up the fairway together. All very time consuming. You can regularly forget to look and find yourself walking off to the next hole in front of a group teeing off from just behind your green. On a busy day like today with the usual strong wind it's probably safest to wear a crash helmet rather than a cap. Seahouses can be enjoyable to play it just hasn't got the space to do itself justice nor the sinage to stop it's faults becoming quite irritating as you get further into your round. Plus there seems to be a lot of casual walkers who seem to enjoy just wandering across the course !! Unfortunately I don't think there is much it can do to correct most of it's faults, still nice to play it in its centenary year !

The first thing anyone will say about Seahouses is that it is a course of two distinct parts. It is very Links style on the clubhouse side of the road and Parkland on the other side. The Parkland side is okay. The Fairways are a bit rough and ready but have nice springy grass. As with the Links part there is not a great deal of rough to cause you problems but there are some water hazards. On the Links part of the course there are some excellent holes which on a nice summers day I'm sure will be an absolute pleasure to play. They are testing and with some great views along the beautiful Northumbrian coast. The short yardage of the course tells it's own story that the course is shoe-horned into limited space which restricts it's potential. It is a course which can be enjoyable for all standards of player, it's just a shame that the few excellent holes aren't backed up with some better ones on the rest of the course. The welcome in the clubhouse was very warm and we enjoyed some great butties at Lunchtime. The changing facilities are adequate, but boy the toilets could do with a good clean the smell was disgusting !!

Played Seahouses for the first time in a 4 man team open. Great welcome in the clubhouse and breakfast was spot on. Course was in great condition and will strugggle to play better par 3's anywhere. Only negative is that there are quite a few holes that share fairways and crossover (confusing at times) and i imagine that during busy periods this could be a nightmare.

Definitely worth a trip if you haven't played.
