The oldest public golf course in the USA. Easy to get to as it is 5-10 minute walk through the park on the last stop on the 1 train in the Bronx.
The course is long with 2 par 5 over 550 one at 610. Farly straight, not much water to contend with but the last 4 holes are fun 1 up hill shots to a blind green, you have to lay up unless you think you can clear the cart path and get half way up the hill to the green, next is down hill and on a good day you can reach the green, simple par 3 next with a last hole that must have 200ft drop to the green. Last time I played there I was 20 feet from the green, other long hitters will reach the green.
Currently has temp greens for the winter as they are renewing over half the greens for next year which should make this a better course.
Summer months don't expect anything less than a 5 and half - 6 and a half round, always busy, winter is 4/5 hours.
