I usually play the 9 hole course; Oak royal which is down the road. However there was a competition on so i decided to head down and play here. at £3 cheaper to play I wasnt expecting anything brilliant but 'course' is a very strong word to call this establishment. It is simply a pitch and putt, excluding the 7th hole allowed for a hybrid, and the first hole, but the driver is not needed. The first hole is supposedly a 320 yard par 4. However there is a 90 degree dog leg into more like a 200yead 3 iron to the green. The design of the course is on a hill face and rest of the holes require anything from a SW to 9 iron from the tee. Every tee bed was GUR and the greens were very very poor. Great for people who have never played and who are perhaps looking for a 'gateway course' to ease them into playing real courses without the worry of slowing other players down. However at £7 I feel is an absolute rip off. I will not be returning. Ever.

Lovely little 9 hole course. Very well maintained. Not many long holes, the longest being the dog leg first which plays just over 300yrds so no real opportunity to use the driver. However small greens, varied pin positions and small margin for error off the tee on a few holes make this course a real challenge. The prices are great, especially the £5 winter fees and loyalty card system - giving you a free round for every 10 you pay for. My favourite 9 holer of the surrounding area, would highly reccommend.

A testing 9 hole course, with minimal opportunity to drive. Plenty of mounded greens that are fast mean punishment for hard hit approaches.

Fairways and greens in good condition and well kept.

Ideal for practice or if you haven't palyed in a whilre or are just beginning. Very Short 9 hole course. Greens are OK but tee boxes need some work.

Mr

Well kept course a bit soft due to recent rain but a good test of your iron play due to the undulating fairways , greens and pin locations. A good practice prior to moving on to a full 18 hole course

Nice little 9 hole course with decent greens. Not much of a challenge due to length - but OK for practice.

Highfield is a 9 hole pay and play par 3/4 course. It is a good test with some tricky par 3's. IT's a good place to practice your short game skills. It is family owned and they are lovely people to deal with. It has a small club house where you can purchase golf attire at very reasonable prices. You can get warm/cold drinks and bars/chocolate. It's in a lovely setting with outdoor seating. It's a place that I use quite regularly and would recommend others.

This is the first time I have played this course in lovely weather. The course is still very challenging with narrow fairways and small raised greens but this is part of its charm. They are still playing off winter tees but the greens are in good condition and the fairways have dried out so was not covered in mud when I came back. This is a great course for golfers just starting as you get plenty of time to practice your iron shots. Will definitely be playing again very soon.
