I've just started playing golf a year or so ago, and still find "posh" golf courses intimidating. Dunton Hills however, has a very friendly atmosphere - especially on the par 3 course where if you are a beginner like me people will cut you a lot of slack.
Add to that a great club house where you can get drinks and meals at a very good price and you have a great day out without costing a fortune. Highly recommended for newbies like me.

Not the most interesting course
Played here because other local courses were waterlogged, probably should have been closed too.Very strange that clubhouse not properly functioning, needed to ask for drink in the starters office
and was brought into the club. Very nice and friendly lady in the office.

Good value
for a turn up and play course this has to be the best value for money in the area. No tee bookings required. The fairways are wide and some of the holes are challenging but they could do with a grass removal attachment on the fairways as it was full of cut grass. The greens were in reasonable condition but still worth playing especially as 18 holes is only ?14 clubhouse restrictions apply with no food or drink available apart from cold drink bottlesReviewer Rating

How this is called a golf course is behind belief! The owners should be charged with fraud....... Greens! if that’s what you can call them are horrendous, Patches of mud on the greens, so many holes, sand everywhere and what looked like human excrement on them. To many non playing golfers who do not understand the rules of golf. This place good be a very good golf course but I’ve never ever seen greens like these. They should pay you to play here! Spend some money and improve your course.

Sad it is going to be sold to make way for Housing
Turn up and play course. No bar or food facilities in clubhouse. Course in better condition than when I last played there. £12.50 a round is good value.(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 108 Handicap: 28)

Good for societies?
Needs a bit of work maturing and some sand in the bunkers. Greens are slower than I am used to

Today me and my dad went over the dunton hills golf course to play the 18hole par 3 and it was unplayable because every hole was covered in water and likewise with the greens, also the bunkers were overflowing with water, and we had to play of temporary tees which were covered in water/woodchips. We went in to pay for 18 holes but weren’t told what the conditions would be like. It would of been nice to be told the conditions to pay for 9 holes, in my opinion the course should be closed for now until they sort out a proper drainage system. We were only able to play 9 holes due to the poor conditions. It cost £29(including trolleys) to play. I think its a disgrace. I would just like to know the clubs comments on why me and my dad wern't informed on the condidtions. My dad is a member of Orsett golf club and he's trying to help me to play golf which a par 3 will help me. My friends and I who try and play the par 3 courses will not be using this course in the summer. Lets see if the owners or management would like to comment on this, one very unhappy 15 year old.
