What The Club Says

The 18 hole course is varied and enjoyable. Ramps, blind holes, protected holes, bunkers, steams and two lakes will test your skill with every club in your golf bag.

Its extraordinary design makes it challenging but never burdensome as the tees are all close to the greens.

Hard course with difficult raised greens surrounded by bunkers. Tricky large drains and water hazards.

A Gem

I loved playing here, hired clubs no problem. Course is large and in 2 areas. Standout hole obviously the 16th Sawgrass hole which is a lot harder than it looks. Fairways and greens in great condition, a pleasure to play. Terrace bar/restaurant overlooking the 1st. The lady in front of me who joined on the 10th (for 9) broke her ankle so hope she is ok.

Very good course with nice wide fairways, greens good but not particularly fast, a pit pricey at 79 euros

Dont play here until work finished

Extensive rebuild taking place. They said they had reduced the green fees by a few euros but only three holes were effected. Not true. Half the holes were effected. Maybe when its finished it will be better but it still took 6 hours as The Walking Dead are playing in front of you.
Some terrible golfers on there and some rude Scandinavians which was a first for us: they are normally really polite and well mannered golfers. Perhaps they were Russian and I just didn't pick the accent.

Wont go back

We were told that the course had three affected holes while they did some improvement works. Not true, more than half of the holes are affected and some of the greens are just tighter cut fairways.
That aside it took 6 hours following ancient golfers and tourists round.

Practiced there for a week during May 2015 (Six rounds), found the course a reasonable challenge for the lower handicap golfer.I joined up with various other golfers of mixed ability, and they found the course enjoyable, albeit some should have spent more time on the practice range. In mentioning the golf range, the balls were of very poor quality.Practice chipping greens were being re-laid . Some remedial work on the greens and fairways were in evidence, which shows investment in the course is on-going. The main practice putting green had some very interesting graduations that allowed for good putting practice. The course itself is short, however, some very interesting blind shots and raised greens make it interesting. Agree bunkers not of the best quality regarding sand, however, I have played worst courses for a lot more money, when not receiving a courtesy . Shortage of buggies is a bit of a problem, had to wait over an hour past my allotted tee times due to buggy not being returned on time, this mainly due to the inconsideration of the previous user, as they went for drinks instead of returning the buggy. I found caddie master to be very helpful and the staff in general very pleasant. Holes I enjoyed most were the par 5's Low scores very easy to obtain as the greens were not that fast. Summer heat does tend to burn the courses in Spain during the summer months, and bare patches are expected, as The La Finca course was closed at the time of my visit, many vacation golfers visited La Marquessa, making it very busy. Had the pleasure of watching a local Junior tournament and was impressed by some of the Spanish players of the future.
