Vale da Pinta is a challenging course for the golf beginner. On Gramacho a different type of fairway grass which produced no bounce and roll, despite 29 degree temperatures in September.

Kept in fine condition

Despite the difficulties of the pandemic and the puerile UK government manoeuvring, Pestana have done a splendid job in keeping the course at its best.

Great courses

Both of these courses offer challenge but are different. Well kept and Gramacho is the prettier of the two, with lovely features. But would play both again. Fairways and greens in good condition, which is saying something as it is getting to the end of summer. Well watered.

Always like Pinta

For sure one of the best Algarve courses. Challenging, scenic, varied in demands on shots, a real player?s delight.

Amazing Golf Resort - Go there !

Gramacho and Vale da Pinta are two adjacent courses which are part of the Pestana Golf Resort. There are other courses associated with Pestana but these two are next to the residences where most people stay. Gramacho is the best in my opinion, a fantastic layout and a lovely first hole to start your round. The quality of the greens was amazing and the fairways were like carpets. Vale da Pinta is a harder slog, lots of climbs and the walk from 18 to the clubhouse is a killer up hill ... but you have to play it just for hole 13 ... can you reach the green ??

Great golf course but pace of play is very slow which let the day down maybe it was a great day for golf and took advantage of the weather

Tough course

I found this course pretty tough, but mainly because the greens had recently been dressed and were very slow and inconsistent. The fairways are a bit hilly in places and I would not like to walk it. Unfortunately my husband and I got caught behind a very slow 3 ball and with the lack of a Marshall the round was very very slow.

A Good Round

Vale da Pinta is a varied course and I am told it has been used as a Seniors qualifier. On the day the greens were not that good as they had been recently dressed and were quite slow. Otherwise my wife and I had an enjoyable round.

Far too busy

Unfortunately we won't be visiting this course again on our annual Algarve visit. It is always far too busy, resulting in very slow rounds (once took six hours!). This year on the par 3 7th there were 4 people on the green and 12 waiting on the tee. If you want a buggy they?ll have run out and despite the long round, no-one comes out with drinks.
