Fantastic Dunes

Returned to the Dunes after around 6 years, was fantastic. Course has been developed and I would say this is now better than the Pins. Greens were excellent, food and hospitality also very good.

Beautiful condition, greens true, course to ourselves in October (rainy). Scored 35 points off 18, had thought it would be more challenging by the reviews. You can't be too erratic, but straight and steady will do you

Played le foret in June. Basically a parkland course, not much water. Quite a long course from my perspective. Certainly encourages you to get the driver out on every hole. In pretty good condition.

We played both courses (le Foret amd le Mer) and enjoyed both of them. Le Mer is the tougher challenge especially if the wind blows with le Foret being more like a british parkland/woodland course.
On both courses there are only a few holes where you are even aware of the rest of the course with either the dunes or the trees making you feel you are on the only hole around.
Beware of the long walk from the club house to le Mer and be warned that there are no facilities at the le Mer first tee, only a starters hut.
If you want a buggy book early, there is not a large number available.
The club house facilities are limited and tend to close pretty early, but most of the staff speak English and are very keen to help.

La Foret is the plainest of the courses we have played in the area. There are one or two very nice holes but in general it is a game of two halves. the front nine is totally uninspiring but the back nine is a little more af a challenge. The best hole - the par 5 11th. Hit a good drive and then go for the green if you dare. Truly wonderful to see a ball fly straight through the tree lined opening to the elevated green. I hit a birdie - and lost the hole to my buddies eagle .... and it actually felt good!!

This course is one of the best conditioned courses I played in 2022. It's an excellent and challenging course near the sea with great views. It can be tough if you get into trouble, but it's great when you don't! The courses in this area are always in good condition and interesting to play. The difficulty off the tee and the prevailing wind make this place even more special.

le Touquet La Mer

Wow! This was tough, great course conditions, windy which made a difficult course harder, but still enjoyable. Probably the best course in the area (opinion only!). Definitely one to play if you are playing well, hard work if you are not! Long course with long distances between holes so not for the unfit! Buggy would be good for here I think!

Not great!

Considering many, many women golfers in France the course was not set up well for them. My wife plays golf with me and it was disappointing and difficult as there are no facilities around the course. We also did not feel that the course was in great condition, particularly the fairways. The tee boxes were great as were the greens. Pace of play was ridiculously slow and no marshals on course. Over 5 hour round with a buggy.

Was tipping it down when we played but the course was great nonetheless. Really open in places but tight in others. A proper challenge in the wind and rain we had. Great facilities.

Great Value

Firstly, the service from Pro Shop, Dining Room, Bar and Course is first rate and welcoming. The two courses are in excellent condition - greens on La Foret nice and quick. However, the renovations on La Mer have created a stunning course but completely playable given the choice of tees. One thing, it is a bit of trek from the clubhouse to the La Mer course. All round, great fun and great service.

A tough links course in exceptional order, but made especially challenging due to the moderate breeze. Very slow play which became frustrating at times. Sadly no on-course club house or changing facilities. Nevertheless well worth a visit.
