Good Course for a Resort Course interesting layout and plenty of water to catch you out,the greens need a bit of TLC reseeding would help and more water but seem true.
Helpful staff at club house.Expensive though for condition of greens and a buggy is compulsory, you could not walk it anyway unless you want a heart attack!

If you get to Cuba stay at the Melia las Americas Hotel,it is next to the course and a 2 min walk across carpark.Cannot walk the Course have to have cart 40quid.Plenty of Water, well bunkered in parts, views fantastic good fun (take water).Would recommend.
Can store Clubs at Pro-Shop (no charge),Green staff try to sell Balls on way around course so if you are a wayward Golfer its OK,just ask a Greenkeeper!..I gained 3 Balls!!..Did not lose one.Might go again in 2012.

Played this twice with my son in August this year. Overall great views when going round the course but course itself wasn't the hardest we had seen. Course was in good condition apart from odd green. We got golf free with Virgin Holidays but had too pay for buggy which was around £35 think and this was whether you had buggy to yourself or shared. Remember to take your camera and if you are running out of balls then there are loads of people selling them on the course but don't buy from clubhouse as they are very expensive.

Would have to agree with other reviews. It is very pricy because, as with most Caribbean courses, they insist you have a buggy which is about £40. The round price is about £60-70 per person but if you stay at the Sandals hotel as we did you get the round for free so only pay the buggy fee. Luckily here they don't make you pay caddy fees. The course is very nice with some hard holes including the awesome stroke index 1 15th hole which is a played over 3 islands. Took a 10 at the first attempt!!. It can be very windy on the back nine when playing against the ocean cliff tops but views are spectacular. Mosquitos are a problem but they are everywhere in Cuba. Just wear decent protection, I didn't get bitten once. The other thing I did not like is that they always insist on you playing as a 4 ball so they put pairs together or add single players to 3 balls. Would be nice to just play with friends but hey. Good way of meeting people unless they don't speak English like the ones we were with on both occasions!! Didn't have any problem booking tee times and even though it was very busy there were no waits at tees. The green keepers were a bit of a pain trying to sell you golf balls. Didn't want to take no for an answer and kept talking while trying to play our shots. Just had to drive the buggy away in the end and ignore them.

Overall a nice course. Very expensive unless you get a good hotel deal. Would like to go back and play it again but there are no doubt better courses about.

Just got back and whilst we enjoyed the course very much, don't let the review above or the Trip advisor reviews confuse you like they did us.

The Green Fees when paid direct at the course are not far short of £70 pp and then you have to hire a buggy at apx £40 for 2 for the round.

We booked via our hotel at £60 each per round inc buggy. If you stay at the connected Hotel Melias you only have to pay for the buggy between you which come to only £40 and would be considered a bargain. Ther review of the course above above is pretty accurate and the bit about the mozzies is spot on. We got eaten alive. The bunkers are not v good, full of stones and not much sand considering how close to the beach it is.

Anyways, I shot a 90 giving me 36 pts which I cannot grumble about considering I lost 2 balls. Would only play there again if I was connected to the resort as it is very overpriced for what it is.

Cuba's only 18 hole golf course!! And not a bad one either!
Weird set up, very long from green to tee in places as course is only two fairways wide in places and is approx a mile and half long! Buggies come included (good job).
They've just got new load of Taylor made R7's as loan clubs (all mid flex) come with R7 tour bags and look great on back of buggy!
Try and play mid morning if you can, when not too hot and the Mozzies aren't out.
A fair amount of water on course add nice touches to the course, the signiture hole is the 16th.. 3 islands make up 2 fairways and the green!
Best camera moment is prob on the 9th & 18th, beautiful views of sea and their stunning club house.
A bit pricey tho for what it is, approx £45 a round (buggy are included tho), R7's are approx £33 to hire, take your own balls and tee's if you plan to play it as a sleeve of Dunlop DDH will set you back around £11. By the time you've finished with all hiring and buying you'll be looking at nearly £100...! Hard to swallow, but then again how many people can boast to've had a round of golf in Cuba??
