It has been in much better condition in the past eg tee boxes quite poor
It has suffered from a lack of maintenance possibly due the lack of rain and hot weather and the virus
Hope it recovers to former glory soon as a great course!!

1st 4 ball weekend after lock down
Busy busy busy!No social distancing that I could see as there were bacon rolls / burgers available to but=t=y before / after the round.
Pace was slow, with a busy course and as far as I could see lots of 4-balls. Conditions were ok at best but to be fair, I don't know how much the green staff have been able to do.
The whole place just feels a little 'shabby', rough tee boxes, grass clippings everywhere, bumpy greens. It's a shame because the course itself is inheretantly good, just needs some TLC.

Looked after very well by the staff.
This course always was, and still is, tough and tight. Heavily wooded and lots of 'in play' water hazards. This is a tough test for average hackers but is obviously popular with them due to good deals offered by the club. So the rounds were very slow.
The course would really benefit from a 2 Tee start. Separating 2 balls from 3&4 balls. 1st and 10th tees are next to clubhouse, so surprised they haven't implemented. It would cut 5 to 51/2 hour rounds by at least an hour. Our 2-ball had a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 balls in front of varying standards who alternated between yellow and white tees whenever they felt like it. So course needs marshaling just to help keep the pace of play moving.
I liked the course and it's a great test of your game but probably won't return unless speed and etiquette improves.

i went with 8 mates whilst on golf tour found the reception from club very unhelpfull with the starter very critical of our drives despite two of our lads with low handicaps.we had booked 36 holes with an hour break for lunch.but the club changed the times at the end of the first 18 giving us 20 minutes for lunch, will not be going back

Needs some love
Place is "under renovation" (?!?), smacks of low level muni. Ladies at reception the best tho.Reviewer Rating

Needs some TLC
They are renovating the clubhouse and money appears to be tight, just needs a bit more lawnmower for fairways and rough.Reviewer Rating

Worth a visit
Gatton is on the way back to its best with changes happening to both the course and club house. After neglect by previous owners the course is improving.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 107 Handicap: 20.4)

Great layout but disappointing condition
Really good challenging layout. Long but playable. Tees and fairways pretty good.Greens poor though for late August and bunkers seem to have been abandoned (full of weeds!)
Needs some work putting into it! Wouldn’t rush back…
(Round played: Aug 2021, Handicap 8.3, score terrible!

Very short, and a little frustrating
When you have to tee off on a par 5 with a 4 iron because you're going to run out of fairway it takes away a lot of the risk and reward.. overall in my opinion this was a crammed in 18 holes and although there were a couple of nice holes overall not for meReviewer Rating

Great layout but in need of some TLC!
I've played Gatton Manor a number of times over the last 12 years or so. This was my first visit in about 4 or 5 years. It really is a great layout but this place needs some significant attention spent on it. I know that it has been through lockdown and may not have received as much attention as it should have but compared to other clubs, it is not in great shape. The tees are very poor and the greens are okay but inconsistent in pace. But the course just looks scabby in a lot of places. When I first played here the course was luxurious, now it is tired. I understand that it is under new ownership - they really need to invest some time and money to return it to it's former glory. It would be a real shame if it went to ruin.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 75 Handicap: 3.6)
