Fine

Same course and facilities, but green fees twice as expensive as 2019. Another course treating visitors with pricing contempt!

Excellent course. Set in a valley, there is rarely a flat fairway and lots of little slopes around the greens. But, there is hardly a blind shot on the course, which means it's very playable even if you've not played there before. Not long, with a premium on position, especially off the tee. Greens were slow, following recent rain, but consistent. Bunkers were very hard (again it has been wet) and possible lacked some depth of sand. But that would be my one (minor) criticism of a very enjoyable course.

There's good and bad to Woldingham. The course isn't the most interesting but it's set in a lovely valley and the greens and course were in great condition. It was a very slow round. I don't know why players wait for the green when they are physically unable to hit it. Guys who are hitting it 180 off the tee and then waiting when they have 250 to go. Anyway, I enjoyed the round and would come back but not in a hurry.

Woldingham GC

Very nice autumnal colours and scenery, and a friendly welcome. Greens good for early November but quite a lot muddier than expected on the fairways and in the rough, despite 2 weeks without rain. Not quite free draining as advertised... Couple of interesting holes but many holes felt a a bit samey. Shared 9th/18th green was good. Also, I struggled with nearly every approach shot being played from a sloping lie; appreciate it's probably something I need to practice but just be aware, though possibly in summer balls will roll to flat(ter) spots.

Decent course, good greens, but.....

This is a pretty good track. A variety of holes. Being in a valley there are a lot of sloping fairways. The greens are very good at the moment. We had a very slow society in front of us so the round took 5 hours. No marshal in sight. They are clearly investing money in the course because there are a few parts that look like a building site.
But....the clubhouse, I'm sure meant to be grandiose, is utterly soulless. The staff are efficient enough, but none really seem happy to be there. Food, at best, is average.

very good track with a couple of niggles

Played this for the first time on the hottest day so far in 2021. What a delight, I have to say that as I played quite well! this is one of the toughest tracks I have played in a long time and very glad that I invested in a buggy. (More of that later).
Tee boxes in good nick. Fairways were in the main quite long and the rough penal! However can understand this as it is the prime growing season and with hot weather it does prevent some 'burning' of the fairways.
The green thought were good, maybe a trifle long but is was a Monday and maybe not given a trim since the weekend. Having said that were very true. There are some tricky borrows on most of the greens.
The course is well bunkered, both on the fairway and around the greens. Major issue here with Covid restrictions maybe not as well looked after as normal. But there is some very coarse sand and not much of it in the majority with a lot of what I assume is flint, a killer for most clubs! Having said that I managed to play the round without encountering a trap but my partners did.
Buggies at £35.00 a round were I felt very expensive.
Service in the pro shop polite and efficient. Catering was fine if a bit limited. Always judge this by the quality of the bacon buttie, this was fine!
It will be a course to play again for me, just those couple of niggles that did not spoil the day just left a little cloud.

Course always on a slope.
Good round, still turning over, a lot of shots hooking.
Driver, tee down bit.

Good round, aside from one poor 8!

Lovely course but....

This is a very good course. From tee to green it's in great condition if you stay on the green stuff. Lots of challenging holes, more than enough risk/reward shots available. Green are excellent. The club house is probably a bit too grand, because the bar is tiny. The changing rooms and showers are very good. BUT, the bunkers are a disgrace. Minimal sand and full of stones. The fairway bunker on the 16th looks like it's full of builders rubble. I know you shouldn't be in bunkers, but when you are, you need a fair chance of getting out. Having been in one early in the round we took a look at most of them on the rest of the round and they were uniformly terrible. Such a shame, because this could be a top rated venue.

great course

a true challenge for any golfer, being sited in a valley sloping fairways provide the first test. Then deep bunkers elevated greens and sloping greens compound the difficulty. I played when there was virtually no wind, if it does blow it poses a major club selection issue.

Fantastic course and position play is key, you can score low here as long as you arnt expecting to hit driver off every tee. Greens are a good pace and teeboxes are perfect. Very slopey course a but a good test of knowing your yardages.
