Charity Day
The course has a lot of slopes on each hole and you basically have to drive the ball left on each hole, there was a lot of clumpy grass around the greens and the bunkers was full of stones(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 87 Handicap: 9.9)

Fine
Same course and facilities, but green fees twice as expensive as 2019. Another course treating visitors with pricing contempt!(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 98 Handicap: 20.4)

About time the bunkers had some sand in them.
This course is a good challenge. Unfortunately the weather had conspired against them and it was very, very, wet and muddy. However, having played here over several years, I still haven't seen bunkers in worse condition anywhere. They have been bereft of sand for the last three years to my knowledge and there's one bunker, on the par 5 16th I think, appears to be full of builders rubble. Sort the bunkers out and you've got a very good course. Leave them as is and you've got a disappointing one.The clubhouse is large, but soulless. A tiny bar with not many seating areas.

Nice club , poor bunkers
Lovely clubhouse and facilities. Greens currently a little slow but very well kept. The course itself is built into a sort of valley so most of the fairways are on a slope. The bunkers let the course down. The sand is non existent, it looks like dirt and there are loads of big stones. The texture of this sand/dirt meant it was virtually impossible to play a normal bunker shot as you got no purchase and just a load of dust.A shame as it’s quite a nice course.

What's happened to Woldingham? Yes the winter has been very poor but this once verdant private course with good greens is now a shadow of its former self.
Even though the ground is hard, there is mud everywhere and clear signs that the course has been overplayed during the wet winter. It's pot luck whether you land on a mud patch or some grass, even on the fairways. This needs some serious ground maintenance and it will be interesting to see whether the course improves over the summer. At present it is nowhere near value for money at £31 on a Saturday.
The day was also somewhat marred by one of the slowest four balls in front of us I have ever seen. Literally had to wait five minutes on every shot while they messed around hacking their way up the fairways (rough). Please Woldingham, either reduce the players on the course or get a marshall out there to ensure players are keeping up with other groups.
I understand golf courses need to make money, and it's especially hard given our winters these days. But letting non-members slog round in the mud is ruining the course and hitting the club's reputation in my opinion.

Course ok, bit muddy. Valley pleasant but exposed. No ball cleaners. Bunkers full of stones, footmarks left in most of them. Fagbutts and broken tees rule...
Clubhouse & bar the usual postmodern tacky fake architecture, 3*
We were about to chuck the towel in at nine.......too slow, but continued until the end. This was midweek afterall.
