Incredible
This was the first time i played this course in almost 31 years, oh boy, have i missed it.The condition of the course was fantastic, the work the ground staff have done to get it to this level is exceptional. The welcome you receive in the Pro Shop and Clubhouse is truly great.
I cannot recommend this club highly enough, and because of this, i'm joining.

It's playable on proper tees & greens all year around and offers plenty for everyone - there are both short & long versions of par 3's, par 4's & par 5's. You have to be accurate but you also have to hit the ball a decent distance. It offers scoring opportunities on the front 9 but the back 9 (particularly the stretch from 10 to 13, known to members as The Murder Mile - over 1500 yards covering 4 holes with no par 5's - 3 long par 4's & a tricky par 3) makes a score very difficult to maintain. It also has a difficult closing stretch from 16 - 18.
To sum up, it's a tremendous course and will test every facet of your game - if you don't hit it straight/keep your ball in play, you will pay the price. It's the best conditioned course around and nature has designed it, rather than some guy with a big ego and more money than sense trying to create something out of nothing and failing miserably, as is so often the case with new courses nowadays. Yelverton has been around for over 100 years for a reason!
