Top class hidden gem

Whilst hidden gem is a bit of a cliche and often over used. Worksop is in an area known for several other courses that may just pip it for must plays. But don't let it pass you by! Worksop is a 100% must play hence the use of hidden gem.

The course is well maintained with exceptionally good quick and generous greens and a nice varied layout offering an excellent golfing challenge for all golfers. All holes are unique offering lots of variety with a few risk and reward holes also thrown in.

The only slightly less positive point would be the course signage with a couple of holes where it is not 100% clear which path leads to the next hole but that information is clearly available on the back of the score card so it shouldn't really be an issue.

I'd highly recommend playing Worksop Golf course and am sure golfers of all abilities would find it an excellent course to play and an enjoyable day out.

Fun Layout and Fair Test

Great time playing Worksop.
I think it is fair to say its fairly challenging off the tee. Tight in places and some heather coming into play but not always a driver which makes it fun.

The greens are amazing, and felt pretty big which means you need to be on form with the putter if you want to post a score.

Some lovely views and some well framed hole and can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities.

Interesting and Well Kept

We received a very warm welcome at Worksop bearing in mind it was in the midst of COVID-19 issues. The course was from winter tees and was in lovely condition. We even spoke to a green keeper who was using scissors to tidy up one of the greens. We would certainly return in the summer months when we would expect the course to be even better !

good winter course

THE COURSE IS IN NEED OF SERIOUS TLC, NOT ENOUGH MAINTENANCE AROUND GREENS AND FAIRWAYS HAS BEEN DONE OVER THE YEARS AND IT SHOWS..
ITS A GOOD CHALLENGE TO PLAY WITH TIGHT FAIRWAYS AND EASY TO WALK,

Winter go-to

We visited after a very wet stormy period when most courses were either closed or on full temps; this proved a very well-drained course all round, with all 18 greens open and in fine condition. Not a difficult course but nevertheless a good all-round test.
All staff were very helpful and welcoming, as were the members we met.
Worksop will certainly be our winter standby from now on.

Superb

Wow. This course is simply a joy to play. The condition was exceptional and it has some very challenging holes which look stunning. If you don't enjoy playing at Worksop you need a different hobby.

Amazing course

Played here the other week. Fantastic course, fairways and tee boxes cut very well and the greens fast and true. Great food and drinks also afterwards in the modern looking clubhouse

Few cranky members

Having poor round so as always having a bit of banter with rest of lads , but not appreciated by snobbyness of some members. Not as if they were playing a shot because we always respect other golfers.maybe a one off but that attitude doesn't help the mood it puts you in for the rest off the round.
Other than that a nice course and I would play it again.

excellent course

day began with a nice cup of tea and a bacon sandwich. Great course in excellent condition. Some testing holes but doesn't punish you too much if you wander off the fairway.

The course looks very good from the clubhouse. The first is an uphill par 4, most holes have elevation changes. The holes are tree lined, the fairways are in good condition; the greens were a nice quick pace. On the back nine the greens have some big slopes, you need to place you approach shots below the holes. There are some dogleg holes where you need to position shots rather than hit driver. The 18th is a par 3 which finishes in front of the clubhouse.
