Disappointed
The setting is excellent and the approach up the drive stunning to a truly magnificent clubhouse, however that’s where the superlatives end.The course is surrounded by rough that has been deliberately left like fields and extremely penal to the average golfer
The semi rough ie just off the fairway is again penal with the grass so long you can lose your ball
This made the course in playable for me and my golfing chums who were at handicaps of 16 to 22 and we didn’t enjoy the experience
Talking to members in the clubhouse they all agreed and moaned the course was set up for the lower handicappers and not the average membership
The clubhouse the food and drink options were superb if a little pricey
We have come to Woodsome about once every 2 years but won’t be returning

great couse, immacualte condition
Course was in fantastic condition. All bunkers in top nick, greens nice, fast and true. A test on the calves at times on a few steep holes. Clubhouse is a stunning old stone style pub and cottage.Reviewer Rating

Top Course
The course was in excellent condition, and without doubt definitely worth visiting . Shame the half way house wasn't open.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 18.7)

Very pleasant course
Despite the very wet weather the course was in good condition, just 2 winter greens (one on a temporary hole). Matts were used on all tees and they were well kept, fairway matts in use too. For ?25 for winter golf at such a good course it's well worth a visit. And we had the course to ourselves!Reviewer Rating

Course holding up well post storm Doris. Some de-vegetation and drainage works done over winter. People not putting divets back however.

Course in great condition for time of year, hopefully play again once weather warms up.
