Denis Riddell: My visit to Woodsome Golf Club. ....must be one of the finest in West Yorkshire.
With its unique character. ...16th Century club- house, beautiful inland fairways, excellently groomed challenging contoured greens....not to mention the easily accessible location. ..excellent catering inclusive of friendly helpful staff and great beers !!!
NB....weather was equivalent to my sunny Royal Guernsey Golf Club....not sure if typical!
I can see why Gary and Nick chose to join recently. ...can't imagine why they asked my opinion !!!
Will definitely visit again....and would recommend good golfers to check out the website. ..full trip package...very inviting.
Excellent.

I was rubbish the course was good. Hilly in places, walk from 12th green to 13th tee quite steep but with a bench waiting thankfully. We played on a tee off times offer so was a bargain really.

Played Woodsome Hall for the first time last week and I\'d say it was in top class condition. Gorgeous greens and fairways which have some spring ... heaven!! It\'s all set in beautiful mature parkland and graced by a Jacobean Clubhouse ... (TIP: take your drink to the courtyard). There\'s a huge paractise area, covered driving range and chipping zone too. I noticed that they are just rennovating a stunning dormy house as well which overlooks a lake and one of the par 3s. This a super venue and one which I will visit again ... probably with some friends to use the new accommodation which looks like a very good addition to \"Sunday driver\" circuit.

Played rabbits open. Course in great condition with lush fairways and fast greens (11 on stimp). I play off 28 and whilst I found it tough going at times it is fair and there is room for error on most holes. Could do with a course planner which I believe they hope to have for next season. Final thing to note is that there are a LOT of bunkers.

Bought a 2 ball in a special offer from Travelzoo for £39 inc range balls and coffee. Great price. Course really interesting with ups and downs, raised tees and greens and plenty of bunkers and hazards. Greens a bit bumpy but was talking to greenkeeper and he said that they'll be working hard on them over the next few weeks. Clubhouse is a an old stately home which is very grand. Well worth a try

I was invited to play in a Charity day at this course, I must have passed it a hundred times and never knew it was there, which is my misfortune. The course and the club house, which is in fact an old country house steeped in history is set in wonderfull surrondings. the course supprises you as the front nine are fairly flat and even for me have hoos that i could par, the back nine is a challege, which I wil leave you to discover.
