Tricky course
Good course, some narrow fairways with long grass on sides making it a bit tricky, good true greens could do with a bit of maintenance in placesReviewer Rating

Wasted potential
Played at Wokefield park earlier this week. I can only describe it as perhaps the most disappointing course I’ve played in a long time. Not the worst by any means, but the most disappointing. Why? Because this place could genuinely be one of the best courses and golf facilities in Berkshire.
It has an extensive pitching area, a large putting green, a driving range to practice in, but it is all unkept and undermaintained. The bunkers in the pitching area are full of stones and weeds. The driving range mats are worn and tattered, and the range balls are (pardon the pun) hit and miss (some don’t even have dimples!).
The course itself? Could be incredible, but again the issue seems to be maintenance and a bit of TLC.
The course is interesting. Plenty of lengthy holes, some amazing fairway bunkers and course architecture. Great undulation on the fairways, great water features, plenty of risk-reward holes and large greens with great run-off areas to punish errant approach shots.
However, the tee boxes are an uneven mess, both in terms of being flat and having grass cut at the same length. The fairways are overgrown and unkept, and the greens are a sandy, bobbly mess. Nothing roles straight and true. It’s basically hit and hope on the greens.
You could argue for £22 that I’ve got what I paid for, but I’m leaving this review to implore management to improve this place. It could genuinely be incredible with proper maintenance, and be a place that could charge £45-50 for visitors.
Pace of play was also poor, which I imagine is a reason for lowish prices and poor maintenance (ie. Cramming as many paying visitors in large groups back to back to maximise profits as far as possible).

Needs some tlc
I have been looking forward to playing this course as have wanted to play it for years. I have to say I and my group have left very disappointed. Tee boxes were a mess on almost every hole, greens were ok and better than some courses I have played. Fairways almost non existent. Course looks like they have given up with it. Much like the food in the hotelReviewer Rating

Worth a visit
Lots of bunkers - the major course defence. A couple of cracking Par 5?s on the opening 9. Be aware this isn't a golf hotel more a hotel with a golf course attached. Good facilities indoors with 2 restaurants, a pool and gym facilities.Reviewer Rating

Bunkers
Difficulty of course is the number of bunkers. Huge amounts and will catch you out regularly. Some nice par fives and par threes are tough also. Plenty of water to also entertain.Reviewer Rating

Day In The Sun
Very nice course. Got an amazing deal for a 2 ball plus buggy. Middle of a heat wave so you can image it bone dry. That said greens were very green and challenging.Reviewer Rating

Great society weekend
Third time to Wokefield Park and had another great weekend as a group of 13. Course was in good condition and greens 100% better than last year (running true and fast). Tee boxes were in a bit of a state which was the only negative. Hotel great and food a good standard.Reviewer Rating

Midsummer day
Fantastic weather and picturesque courseGood greens and fairways but tee boxes a bit threadbare.
Plenty of opportunity to try to shape your shots to avoid the many hazards including lots of bunkers. A nice course to play

Good challenge
Course is normally one to avoid in the winter but has been ok recently due to the mostly dry weather. Also made fairer by yellow tees being near the reds so length is 5700 rather than 6500! Fairways a bit cut up amd many pitch marks not repaired on the greens, otherwise greens in good nick. Main gripe was pace of play as mostly 2 balls but there was a 5ball further up which obviously shouldn't be allowed but there were no marshals to stop them and so they held everyone up.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 95 Handicap: 16.3)
