Nice course not to be underestimated because it's short as it has some tough little holes. Holding really really well despite all the rain and kept in great condition. Some winter tees

A tight tricky course with 3 openeing par 3's, just to get you into it gently, the 4th hole is a tricky par 4 with bunkers to the right fairway, one to the left after the out of bounds (left) and a large open mouthed bunker in front of a raised green, a 4 on here is good. holes 5 & 6 are 2 straight forward short par 4's. The 7th hole is a good par4/5 depending which tee you use, either way you have to drive over a large pond to reach the fairway, once safely negotiated you have a straight shot in to a large raised green, beware of the back to front slope, any spin will see you back on the fairway. The 8th is a par 5, a drive of over 200 yds should see you into the dog leg with a good mid iron to the green. The 9th is another par 5, 230yds plus to the water hazard then a long iron or wood to the green, this green slopes from right to left and has numerous tricky pin positions. The 10th is a shortish par 4, usually a 5 or a 6 iron down the fairway with a good 9 iron second shot onto the green. The 11th is a shortish drive with an iron over water, keep right of this and then a wedge into the green, again pritected by a ditch...beware. The 12th & 13th are 2 medium length par 3's the second of which is S.I. 1, out of bounds all the way down the left on both and a ditch running down the right so you have to be accurate on this narrow part of the course. The 14th hole is a short par 4, the green is drivable but beware of overhitting as you could end up in the field behind the green. Hole 15 is a short dog leg left with out of bounds holding the left side, a good hole if your sensible with your irons. The 16th is a long par 3, reachable in one with the right conditions. The 17th is a long par 5, tee off over water, once on the fairway you should certainly reach the green in 3 and get par with 2 putts, the green slops from right to left and is very tricky. The 18th, drive off through a funnel to the open part of the fairway, if you go left, keep your second shot high left of the green and let your ball slowly slide down the slope towards the hole, if you go right you have a second shot into the green and then hope you have enough on it to roll back towards the pin, the green slopes from left to right.
Overall an excellent course, the greens area credit to the greenkeeping staff.
Come along and play there, you'll have fun, I would call it a thinking mans course....good luck.

It's a small course at 4800 approx
1st 3 holes are par 3
Makes you play your mid irons with a couple of tricky dog legs
It's not a hard course but will tighten your game up deffo

Great Course lovely all round honest

Brilliant setting hotel, golf, leisure and entertainment on site or nearby. The course is well kept and cared for by a dedicated team of experienced workers. It is not the longest but is a real good place to play golf. 3 short par 3's to start with followed by a testing bunker surrounded par 4. Then it carries on...see the pro's info on this. The staff are helpful and friendly and it is a real nice place to hang out...Fully recommended.

Shortish challenging well looked after test of golf

I have been playing this course since 1996 and love golf and the Windmill. I love the 3 par 3's to begin with. It's hard to beat the course. Today i was 10 over and played like a bandit. I dare you to try. This venue does excellent service as it is a hotel and is set up for corporate societies weddings and members. The course is great with a mixture of hidden bunkers, trrees, ditches, streams and lakes to get over. You have to manage your shots. The fairways are lush and the green are a real test of putting. Quick and to be feared. I dare you to try them and you will be back time and time again !!!

Great condition considering weather

We try and visit Windmill every season as part of our golf society. Its a decent course with a few challenging holes. Not very long but that suits most of our society so we are not really concerned with courses having massive par 5s etc.

We played in May after a few weeks of consistent rain so our expectations were the course was going to be waterlogged in places. I am happy to report that it wasnt, the fairways were firm enough that your ball still got a bounce and slight roll and if anything the greens were faster than we were all expecting.

Negatives:
Bunkers were mostly waterlogged and the ones that had no water were still not playable (felt like builders sand - most likely due to the weather).

Practice putting green was also waterlogged.

Outside of golf, we had booked breakfast before play. This is usually buffet but with covid restrictions it was plated. That was fine however the general consensus was that the breakfast was slightly undercooked and none of us liked the fact that a "dinner" sausage (herby) was served when we were expecting a traditional breakfast sausage.

After golf we always hang around for an hour or so to go through scores etc and have a drink. Bar was well spread out which was a positive and was table service only (expected). However the service was very slow, only one member of staff serving and the barman got orders wrong a couple of times. This is something they need to improve on.

Despite the negatives however, we all still enjoyed the round and these negatives will not stop us booking again next season.

Excellent condition

The course is in excellent condition and is well worth the green fee. Played the course around 15:40 Good time as the course was quiet with no hold up's. Would recommend this course if youfancy a quick round of golf.

Course in good nick, particularly the greens. Beautiful day and the golf was good. Course crowded, unfortunately with a few players who seemed to have little or no idea of etiquette. Would play it again however.

Short course, but good. If you hit the ball straight then you are in for a good score. Greens are in great condition and looked after all year round. Beautiful scenery too.

Hands down the best kept course I have played. Gorgeous greens and stunning to look at. Apart from it being slightly short they could easily get away with charging £25+ (and I would happily pay that) yet using an online deal I have played here 6 times now and the maximum I have ever payed was £14.50 making this the hands down best value for money course in the midlands surely. If you have not played here I strongly recommend you do.

Very short course (look at the scorecard) that seems to have been designed in an area of land that isn't large enough for 18 holes. I wouldn't say its easy though and this is only down to some of the greens being built on steep inclines, the opening 3 holes (3 par 3's) an example. Some of the holes though are of regulation length but there aren't many. Saying all that, the course is immaculately kept and is very pretty to walk around.

Lovely course for golfers of all levels

It was a soggy fest yesterday but nothing water proof wear and good shoes couldn't withstand. Its a soggy fest this time of year anywhere with the current weather. Yet the high Standards were still to be seen at the Windmill golf course - fairway lush, greens challenging but fair. The food was great especially the meal provided in the upstairs restaurant. Cellar bar and restaurant staff were all very polite and friendly and very helpful all round. Highly recommend this venue for a weekend or for a fleeting visit.

Beautiful golf course

A lovely well looked after golf course just off the A45 going towards Meriden. It opens with 3 par 3 holes causing some to judge that it's is not long but although it can be said you can play it without having to use a driver it is not easy. Anyone who call it easy can play and prove me wrong. As I know you will not pass all of the tests which this golf course will throw at you. Trees and bunkers in places where you pull or push your shot. Get them wrong and you will not reach the greens. Lakes and ponds will swallow your golf ball up if you don't get your best shots in. Not to mention out of bounds at holes 4 12 -16 wow. Play as a society or pop in if you are nearby. Its friendly and open to visitors. The staff are great and the hotel, leisure facilities and cellar bar are second to none if you want to try them too.
