A beautiful walk

Woodland course very attractively priced with plenty of tee times available. Greens and aprons are in excellent condition. May be short yardage but you don't want to miss the fairways or you will be in trouble. Greens have character with slopes on most necessitating a good read. Fairways are improving following the recent rains. Overall a beautiful morning spent on Wimbledon common but need to be patient as it is shared with walkers and horse riders.

This is a great little central London golf course. It is unique in that you can play via two different clubs starting at different ends of the course. The clubhouse facilities are better at the Wimbledon Common end rather than the London Scottish end but it is the course that really stands out. A short but very narrow track, it is heavily tree lined with excellent greens, even in December when we played. There are no bunkers and the common land means that you have to be very conscious of the dog walkers appearing from out of the trees. You must wear a pillar-box red top to play and you need to bring a very straight game off the tee. A mix of shortish par 4s and some brutally long par 3s, there is only one par 5. A fun but challenging course to play for ?15 to ?20 depending on the time of year.

Played there 2 weeks ago from the Wimbledon Common side. For this time of year, the course was in magnificent condition. Greens were lush and excellent to play, fairways nice and tight. Great scoring course if you don't go in the trees! Lunch in the club was excellent too, good food and very polite hospitality. Would definitely recommend to play again.

Some lovely holes and a course where you need a good short game to score as greens can be bowl shaped so tough to judge distances on

Used to have good greens, awful place to play now.

An unusual course in that it is played across common land so there is a lot of waiting for dog walkers and others to move to a safe distance. I have played this course many times and the greens used to be very good but they have completely gone now. While other courses in the area have maintained good, firm greens through the last few weeks of rain, the place hasn't. Given the fairways are not maintained, only greens and tees, this is a major disappointment. It is cheap, and has a short and quirky layout. But without the good greens, it's not somewhere I would rush back to play.

Excellent Test

What a great test of golf! The course itself requires you to be arrow straight, so do not be put off by the length, or lack of it. It's a cracking course, and the greens are the best I've played on, and that includes some of the more famous courses! Not quite sure what the group below found, perhaps they lost a few balls and were grumpy, but the members are extremely friendly and inviting, much more so than at any other golf course. Essentially, if you pay a green fee you are a member for the day, and you are treated as such too. There always seems to be a good mix of people in the bar when we visit, which is refreshing, it's not the stuffy 'stand to attention, the General is approaching' attitude you expect from golf clubs. The captain even came over to us and asked how we enjoyed the round and offered to buy us a round of drinks!

Interesting old course, very challenging, some ridiculously long par 3s, but worth a play if you're in the area. Bit annoying waiting for dog walkers to get off the fairway from time to time, but not the club's fault.

Really attractive, natural course. It's not long, has only one Par 5, and quite a few short Par 4s, but it is a course you have to think your way around. No bunkers, but some savage grass bunkers in the summer months, and tree-lined, which means you have to be accurate.

The greens are the stand-out feature. Incredible they're so good, given the fact that the course is on a Common, with quite a few walkers, dog-walkers, etc.

Small but nice clubhouse, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming

A tight short course. Green's are lovely at the moment. Rough is very punishing. Dog walkers and horses a hazard, as are rabbit holes.

Value for money with a friendly welcome. Would caution that patience is required as course is shared with another club an open to walkers on Wimbledon Common.

Cracker

Courses winds through the trees. Tough par 3s; you have to be accurate and they are long. Two are encroached by trees and the 1st has road on the left. Humps and bumps make things interesting, greens are very good and undulating.
