Short but tough
Wonderful little course, not a long course but has tricky greens and blind tee shots...Good course management is vital. Amazing views across Lancashire on a clear day. Seems to play much tougher than the Par 69 suggests.If you haven’t played this course it is well worth a visit. As for people marking it down low on the reviews...Most courses in Lancashire are wet and very boggy in the Winter months...What do you expect.

Nice course, worth playing
Always enjoy playing Wilpshire, first time I've played it in a strong wind, this makes it a tough course to score on. Bit open to the elements so some holes become difficult but if your game if not going well you can still admire the great views the course offers. Course in great condition, green smooth and fairly quick. Great food in clubhouse.(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 79 Handicap: 5.3)

Hidden Gem
Considering the recent weather, the course was not as wet as expected. The greens had also just been ironed when we played, which made them fast but true. The welcome to the club was superb and the clubhouse is lovely.The course plays longer than the yardage due to being on a hill and exposed to the wind. It certainly requires you to play well and the greens are known for being in good condition most years.
We were that impressed we are currently thinking of joining. The only small downside was the practice putting green is made from astro turf, but the greens are that fast it's not too far off for speed!

Really enjoyed playing this course and the scenery was outstanding - great variance on the holes and some tricky little par three - will definately play here again

Excellent course. Lots of bunkers. Challenging greens. All aspects of the course were in immaculate condition. Friendly pro in golf shop and welcoming members in the club house. Highly recommended.

Played this course in an open event, condition of course great for time of year, greens true. Some good par 3 holes like 17th downhill over a pond. Good finishing hole alongside clubhouse. Friendly welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Great food. Will be returning sometime for sure.

I rang the pro shop to check the best time to play, and he was very helpful advising me that the shop is closed Mondays.\Arrived early on a Wednesday for a 11am tee time the bar and catering was open (very nice lounge) bacon sandwich and tea ordered (excellent) very helpful and pleasant staff.\The course:\I can\'t say enough excellent, excellent, excellent, parkland and moorland fairways tight (you don\'t have to be long but you must be straight), greens bang on, quick, true and tricky. There a 5 par 3\'s all of which are tricky, 2 par 5\'s, one downhill the ninth and the 10th back up the hill.\After completing our round we retired to the bar where our meal was once again excellent, the members polite and interested on our views of their course! Overall a very enjoyable day of golf and socialising was had by our fourball, which I might say can\'t wait to go back and play on a sunny windless day.

Good course which is not the longest but plenty of trouble if wayward, Greens were still very good and a good mixture of holes and lots of fantastic views. As a group of guys who have played all over the North West, West Yorkshire, North Wales I would just like to mention your bar staff and the lady in the pro shop who are a credit to the club and all the friendly members who we spoke to. Without doubt a return visit in the future.

Enjoyable Golf Course

Very nice
Not particularly long, but very nice. Doesn't overly punish you if off line, but you still need to play well round here. The course & especially the greens was in great condition. Great course got very lucky with the recent weather being so good. Very friendly welcome on arrival great car park facilities and club shop. Course played very long. Definitely a course that favours the straight hitter but still enjoyed the round. Greens were very quick but it was to be expected with the recent dry weather
