Fantastic course
The best condition greens I have played on in some time. The course overall was in extremely good condition. Pace of play was perfect, with other groups rarely holding us up or close begin, although it was early on a Sunday morning and it looked like it was much busier later. Friendly staff and nice food in the clubhouse.Reviewer Rating

3 things that if they were improved, I would play here more often. Paths need to be introduced gradually, it looks scruffy in places. The 8th green and 9th tee should be swapped over, would improve both holes dramatically. And lastly, this is another course where senior 4balls are proliferating in the early times. Sunningdale wouldn't put up with that, the course is never going to be that busy to justify it, and it means the numerous 2 and 3 balls stuck behind end up taking over 4 hours which on a course this straightforward is too long.
I'd have to say its a little over rated on here, probably 20-25 out of the 65 courses in Hertfordshire.

Very Good course
Visited Whitehill again recentkly, last visit was over 2 years ago. Course was better than I remembered the condition of the fairways was excellent and the greens, which had only recently been ironed were ultra fast, making the greens very true but ultra fast, leading to many 3 and 4 putts from myself who is not used to greens that fast. Clubhouse also good for a club of this size.Reviewer Rating

Pricey and busy but high quality and challenging
Played early expecting a little more breathing room but was busy from first tee time just after 06:00. Very nicely set out and maintained course with plenty of inconveniently placed hazards and undulating and at times positively hilly fairways to challenge even the most accomplished of golfers. Not completely exclusive of beginners but I would suggest new golfers would find it a bit of a slog with little concession for wayward shots. The challenge is clear from the first tee with a blind drive over a pond, and that challenge continues throughout with very few open and straight holes. Definitely one for a buggy if you find a bit of a hike tiring.Reviewer Rating

Well worth a visit!
Bit of a hidden gem, I say this because it feels like you are driving in to the middle of no where to get to the course. Both over the phone and arriving at the course the receptionists were lovely. The course itself despite all the rain the night before was surprisingly good, there is a good mix of holes and the fairways fairly wide, nice for giving the driver a good run out! The fairways were decent and firmer than expected and the greens some of the best I've played in the area (albeit a bit wet from all the rain but they ran true). I?ll definitely be visiting again. At ?30 a round it's perhaps a bit more than other courses in the area but definitely worth spending that bit more.Reviewer Rating

Greens are fast so playing up short and letting the ball roll to the hole is the way to score a low round here.
Tee boxes are looking a little worn but the grrenstaff do a great job all year round.
