Challenging and picturesque course with great organisation.
I'm the organiser of a society of 20 golfers. We just came back from a long weekend in the Shropshire/Worcestershire area and played Wharton Park as one of the three courses. The weather was tremendous, which was a great help of course! The first view of the course is what looks like a ski slope facing you, the long par 5 up a steep hill. There are many more hills to come and a buggy will be a must on our next visit. The course makes fantastic use of some interesting contours and shapes and you are never faced with dull "up and down" golf, with the hole layout taking you on an interesting route through the terrain.
The greens were fast and true and the course itself was well maintained and defined. Some breathtaking views of local countryside were to be seen.
Slight negatives:
Very long round. May have been the society ahead of us or maybe slow members ahead of that, but 5 and a quarter hours is hard work. We'd have appreciated some marshalls chivvying play along up ahead as someone was responsible for some slow play. The bar is not that well stocked either. Very little choice on draught, with only bottled beers and ciders for variety. We'd have liked to have seen some more draught options available. Very minor quibbles though and didn't spoil our day at all.
The major blessing for me as an organiser was the superb communication from the course at all times, keeping me informed of minor tee time changes and making sure that all was in order for our visit. Very much appreciated.
We rarely return to courses so soon after playing, but we intend to play here again next year it was that good. Thanks to all involved for making it a great day.
If you're in two minds about this course, please don't be. The relatively low (compared to other courses nearby) green fee is tremendous value, not an indicator of a sub-standard course. I'd thoroughly recommend that you give Wharton Park a try.

Lovely Course, nice holes.
Lovely Course in the Summer and well worth a visit. does not seem to hold up so well in the Winter and rain as closed several times due to flooding. Some great holes though and overall I would deffo recommend a visit. On a separate note, if you have any trouble walking then Book a buggy in advance as it has several holes which are very up and down. Not an easy walk.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic Membership Option.
There were a group of 8 of us joined and we had an amazing deal. The facilities and staff ( Carlie ) are excellent. The course itself has some amazing and scenic holes. A difficult Par 5 to open followed by a nice hole where you can make birdie easily if you hit a good ball off the tee. Not the easiest course to walk and if you have a dodgy knee or struggle with hills then I would recommend a buggy. Overall I would certainly recommend this course and urge you to give it a try.Reviewer Rating

Nice course but a long old walk!
Quiet on a Thursday afternoon so enjoyed a steady round without being held up or chased round.Course generally in good condition, some recent photos looked a tad generous compared with reality with quite a few nicely manicured tee boxes being preserved with tees slightly ahead or to the side.
Good variety of holes, well worth a buggy as it’s quite hilly and whilst only just over 6000 yards there must be an extra couple of thousand with the walks between some holes.
Bunkers, fairways and greens all in decent condition, albeit the latter felt a little slow at times.
Will definitely return...once the legs have recovered!

I have to say that all 10 players thoroughly enjoyed the day and we could not fault anything at all.
The course is fantastic but is one hell of a walk i was knackered on monday morning so i think we will be having buggies next year.
All the staff were brilliant and couldnt do enough for us from the pro shop staff right through to the bar staff and waitresses who made us all feel welcome and are a credit to your golf course
All of our group agreed that we will definately be looking to return next year
