Great Course
Played this on reciprical with North Oxford. Would def return and look forward to trying the second new 9 as was really impressed with the new front 9. Also staff very friendly and good facilities.Reviewer Rating

Firstly let me say that I can see that this *could* be a lovely course to play in the summer.
We played for the 1st time today: the front 9 is being moved around so the holes are in 'transition', but they haven't even bothered to print temporary score cards following the current layout.
The greens were apalling. ..every one of them. I completely understand that ALL courses have to be maintained, but to tell us 'they had just been treated with sand' and take £2 off was a mickey take when we realised the greens had all been aerated so in a mess. Most were also extremely patchy.
£29?? We could have played at Pine Ridge for less.....Until the greens recover in a couple of weeks it's not worth the fees. Sorry chaps.
That said: it's good to see significant investment into adding an entire new section and once the summer comes round I'm sure this is lovely to play.
Played 101....with at least 8 wasted putts due to the greens :-)

A testing longer course, wide fairways encouraging you to have go! One of only a handful in Hampshire area truly playable all year. Would play more often but tend to be busy when I wish to play.

First time i had played it, it was ok! Looks like the course has been chopped around over a few years as you have different green surfaces which is a bit rubbish.

The course is in pretty good nick right now. The greens in particular are very good.
The rough is quite brutal in places and with this course the wind is its natural protection so keeping to fairways and greens is not always so simple.

Superb condition at the moment, greens are some of the best in Hampshire, and drainage means they are very rarely closed ... unlike many in this area. New holes are growing in well, and new layout (using the existing course NOT practise holes is great). Waiting to see the changes to the 13/14 holes finished as they look good from the top of the hill.
Grass practise area is good to have, and greens bunkers are a welcome addition to many practise areas too.
Can be quite windy due to location but new green keeper is certainly making good improvements.

New layout means you play the practice holes. Almost feels like your playing a different course.
