Nice course. The cut on the greens was a little long, making them very slow. Also, with a clay base the ball did not hold on the greens. But a nice lay out, friendly atmosphere and good value for the money paid on twilight rates.

Horrendous greens

These are potentially the worst greens I’ve ever seen. There were weeds growing out of the greens themselves. The speed of green to green varied in huge amounts depending on how many weeds were on each.

There is such little signposting to each tee that we probably spent 1/4 of the whole round looking for the next tee boxes.

The fairways need a good watering.

The staff were lovely and it was a cheap midweek evening round but unfortunately that didn’t compensate for the poor conditions and lack of simple expenditure on things like sign posts

The course was in good condition, the fairways have a nice covering of grass and you get lots of good lies. The semi has been cut to a consistent height and makes the holes look very tidy. The greens are very firm (not many pitch marks) but they run true. The 18 holes feel as though they have been placed into a fairly small area, keep an eye on the map as a few tees are not immediately obvious. The back nine is better than the front nine, with a few strong holes to finish.

Going downhill.

As one of the club's nearest to my home I have played at this club as a visitor for a while and as a relative newcomer to golf. It's a flat course with a few challenging holes especially those with raised greens. Lately I have been left disappointed with the condition of the greens which look like they are being neglected. Patchy surfaces, weeds, magpie dug holes not repaired. The fairways are ok though.
As for their websites claim to be a friendly club, I've not experienced any effort from them to be welcoming. Yes, the staff appear to enjoy a laugh and a joke with regulars, but no real effort made to attract visitors. Will be finding elsewhere to play.

Very good

Enjoyed my round. The greens were rolling well and ran true. Overall for October the course was in good condition. Long Walk between some greens and tees but not too bad. I was unsure about some holes criss crossing but as long as you keep your wits about you it doesn't really factor. I enjoyed my game and will definitely play here again

Weston Turville. Thumbs Up

Society day on a Sunday, so anticipated that it would be a long round, but considering teeing off at 11.55am, we were done and complete by 4.10pm., so not bad at all. There are some nice holes at Weston Turville. It doesn't appear long by todays standards on the scorecard and it isn't really, but the defence of the course is the greens. They have so many breaks and slopes it was very difficult to read them. The pace of them was very difficult to judge as well. Some were very slow, but then some were pretty quick. I struggled with them all the way round. Thought it was maybe me, but other people in my 4-ball and in other groups also mentioned this, so maybe it wasn't me !!!. Being picky, there is one annoying thing about the course, and that is, that there are a few holes were you cross other fairways when playing a hole and people have to wait for people to tee-off, which inadvertantly slows play down and causes a backlog. The tee boxes in the most part were ok, but could do with levelling out. The fairways though were true and pretty decent and the semi-rough / rough wasn't too penal. All-in- all, I enjoyed my visit to Weston Turville. Would I go back and play again, yes, but there are other courses in the area that I'd like to try first. Oh, and for ?29.50 for coffee, bacon roll and 18 holes on a late Sunday morning, it was very good value.

Tight course

This is a very tight course with lots of interweaving fairways.
Not that well maintained and winter tees and greens during the winter.
Bunkers are currently unplayable and weedy.

Overall a good experience. Not a taxing round but still some holes to get you thinking. Pretty flat as well so easy on the legs. Needs a little TLC but all the necessary facilities are there and most importantly the course plays well.

good parkland course . Course was in very good condition and tee positions were varied and testing . For a high handicapper of 20 you need to hit fairways or you will find trouble with trees . Didn't find the water hazards really came into play . Staff friendly and welcoming . The only negative was the three par 3s in space of 4 holes .

Solid Parkland Course

A really solid parkland course. Plenty of trees & a bit of water dotted around to keep you on your toes.
It’s fairly flat, but still a challenge. It crosses itself in a couple of places, which some may not like, but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment.
It’s in great condition for November & the greens were superb. I’d love to see them in August.
Definitely worth playing if you’re in the area
