Played as part of a society on 16th July, excellent welcome at the club, lovely bacon rolls and coffee on arrival and delicious 2 course dinner after the round. The course is a bit flat but was in excellent condition and a real test for anyone but the straightest hitting glofer with trouble everywhere if not on the fairways.

Course was in great condition for the time of year and the recent poor weather. We played in a group of 15 on Sunday 27th December, and found the course a reasonable challenge, with only one person shooting below their handicap (our highest handicap was 15!). The staff in the shop and clubhouse looked after us very well and the food was excellent.
Very worth a visit when in the area, and great value.

To start with a few positives, the course was in good condition, the greens were very consistent and members and staff seemed very friendly. Unfortunately the negative far outweighed these.

The standard weekday winter green fee for a visitor without a guest is £60. Fortunately I did not pay this as I booked through the Tee Off Times website. There is absolutely no way that this course is worth that amount of money. I was fortune to play the Championship Course at Burnham and Berrow (5 miles down the coast) a fortnight ago with a member for £30, but even without a member it would only have cost £50 for a winter green fee. In my view, WSM is a plainer track which doesn't have facilities of an equal standard, nor does it present value for money in comparison.

The practise facilities at WSM are limited; there is a putting green and 2 warm up nets in the car park, to which cars park so close that your ball runs off the back of the net, past the player and under parked cars. With the exception of a few holes, the course really isn't that interesting to play, with lots of very straight holes down wide fairways. The land is pretty flat and there are not that many features. As mentioned above, the greens were good, however, it was disappointing to see how many divot marks had not been repaired. At this time of year I can't imagine that there are too many visitors, so I would assume that it is members failing to care for their own course. Curiously the white and yellow tees on the 15th had been moved up by over 100 yards to the ladies tee, and as stroke index 2, this hole didn't play fair.

It is unlikely that I would play again due to the lack of variety of the course and the prohibitive cost. That said, if you can get a cheap green fee and want to play on a course which will hold up over the winter, this might be a good option.

Having recently got back into playing golf after a few years out i decided to try links golf ..this course is definitely the best in my area especially during the winter months no temporary tees or greens its a real credit to the hard work put in by all the greenkeeping staff. The course will test any good golfer and beginners alike . Excellent friendly staff and good food in the very old clubhouse which gives you a sense of the great tradition of the club as a whole.

Enjoyable but no more than that. Very flat (as to be expected on a links course) but lacking in any great charm or interest.
Clubhouse is very dated and during our visit reeked of cooked cabbage !

We played one of our society events at Weston this weekend. First and foremost the course is excellent. Its quite understated, but is very nice to play and in excellent condition. In my eyes its one of the most enjoyable courses to play in the area.

The welcome we recieved from everyone at the club was superb, from the clubhouse to the pro-shop no-one could be more helpful. Just an excellent service.

My only quibble would be that it seems a tiny bit over-priced, was right on our limit for how much we'd normally look to pay, but if money wasnt a factor I'd thoroughly reccomend it.
