Firstly, I was unable to use my garmin watch as it did not recognise the course, even though my watch is up to date, only the valley course, so not too happy before I started my round. Generally I enjoyed my round, except for the five holes on the back nine which are severely punctuated with water. However, the course was not in bad order, the greens a bit slow.

Easiest course of the 2 hotel courses. When we played, the greens had been hollow tined, so the grass was also left quite long, which made them slow. Just as well really as there were some wicked slopes which made putting very difficult, although I'm sure they would get easier if played regularly. The greens in general were also massive, so you could hit them in regulation and still be 30 or 40 yards from the pins. Sand in the bunkers seems to be like very fine gravel, but they played really well, and there was plenty of sand to play some really telling shots fairly easily. One or two fairways very a little rough, looking like they had suffered with the hot weather over the summer, but all in all the course was in acceptable condition. There are at least 3 driveable par 4's, including the opening hole, although when we played it, both days the wind was against on the first. We stayed at the hotel, and the food an drink was good and reasonably priced for a hotel. Food was good, although I did hear one comment that the food served in the bar was better than the food we had in the restaurant, which did seem to take too long to be served. At least a couple of people missed out on breakfast to be sure of getting to their tee time, because their order had not appeared.

Good greens

If the greens were not as good as they were, I would say the course is pretty poor and quite easy, with most holes having left to right undulation and level greens, so you could even put from 50 yards out.

Valley Course

A very dry course when the ball ran and ran. Several of the former bankers have been filled in and the repairs have not had chance to fully mend I suspect due to the very hot summer we are having

One of my regular courses which i enjoy playing on,shame we have had 2 long delayed early morning tee offs in the last 2 weeks.this is frustrating to not only my group but many other early morning members.the course has been opened and played in worse conditions in recent years.other courses that are not far from here dont seem to have these problems and manage to get members out on time.

Two very different courses, would like to play it again and not immediately after Greens maintenance work. Was disappointed as the necessary greens work had rendered them very slow and bobbly. The Wensum course has a few really good holes, I will return to play it.

Lovely course but the condition of the greens and bunkers was poor. Putts were regularly jumping 6 inches in the air! But some lovely holes, spoilt by a l back of care/maintenance

If you want to play golf with lovely views in the wensum valley then this is worth a visit. The greens are very testing with most of the pins situated on crowns on what are quite difficult to read surfaces at the best of times!

First time I have played wensum valley. I'm a fairly new golfer playing about 18 months.played the wensum course. Found the second cut long and the sand hard and very stoney ( looked like builders sand) and on one of the sand traps the sand was so hard I couldn't get the rake in the sand after I hit my shot. When you get to the holes where they are surround by water you have to be very accurate (they owe me 6 balls) which killed my round. The last 9 holes are very long but greens are lovely. Good course but could be a brilliant course if they kept it better.
