Fantastic scenery and a thinking mans course for most of the holes. Greens were in great condition with tricky undulations and difficult to read. I recommend plenty of time on the putting green beforehand which are similarly deceiving!

First impressions are entry into the car park which has potholes everywhere and puddles like lakes. Okay not golf related but something that needs tidying.
The club house is okay. Slightly above average with a bar/restaurant, small pro shop and just outside you have a putting green. No other practice facilities apart from a couple of nets.
The course itself is very much a case of 'should do better'. When we played, the tee boxes were average quality with grass too long and a lot of lumps and bumps. The fairways are okay - mostly decent standard but again the grass could do with being cut a bit shorter.
Greens we found to be very good indeed - challenging and in great condition so well done to the green keeper for those.
Bunkers however were dire. The Weald Park website says they've been re-sanded but 99% of the bunkers had hardly any sand - mainly mud & compacted sand, and they seemed full of stones. I was unlucky to have to play from a couple and it was like trying to drive your wedge through hard clay.
Smaller issues - things like signposting, course markings and better yardage markers. A good tidy up on these would make things seem a little less 'tatty'.
Overall, the foundations are in place to make this course very good indeed. It may be that the previous owners let it get way out of hand and maybe things are picking up, but there's still a long way to go before this can be considered a very good course to play. A saving grace was green fee which was £18 but a buggy is definitely recommended, which adds another £20 onto the overall price for two golfers.

Ps. You'll need a tractor to navigate the car park. Pot holes the size of swimming pools. Another sign that no money has been spent for some time.

Close to being very good, but needs work
The layout and holes are good, a challenge in places with holes you can score on. But there are areas that need a bit more work / investment to get it to a really good standard - the practice nets aren't much use, there are a few greens that stay really wet all day, and about half the bunkers are closer to a worksite than a playable obstacle. There is some grim standing water around that attracts a lot of bugs too, suggests the drainage of the course needs some proper work to fix it. And you really should take driver straight over the tree on the first - fortune favours the brave!Reviewer Rating

Good layout - slow round
Booked online to play late in the afternoon. Pro shop closed and struggled to find the pro. Eventually told to tee off. Pace initially OK but had a long wait at the 4th and waited on every tee thereafter. The course was generally in good condition. Each hole is different and some holes are challenging. A good course for most abilities. Greens were a little slow but overall good. I'll happily play the course again.Reviewer Rating

The course at this club improves each time I play it as more money is spent to restore it. It is quite a difficult course for a 28 handicap but very rewarding. Could have better choice of beer in clubhouse but very friendly staff.
