However after the first hole my trolly was cover in mud with leave stuck to every wheel
The greens have small holes dug by rabbits so had to move the ball around to get a nice path to the hole. Leaves every where and I played on my own so finding the ball was tough

Ps. You'll need a tractor to navigate the car park. Pot holes the size of swimming pools. Another sign that no money has been spent for some time.

no-1 they say they never use temporary greens, wrong, hole 3 was a temporary green.
no-2 they say they never use temporary tee's, wrong again there was at least half a dozen temporary tee's.
The fairway's were not in great condition due to recent rain, however i have played half a dozen different courses this winter and none of them have been as bad, now i have left the worst complaint to last, the greens were an absolute mess, with patches all over, it was lucky dip on each putt as they had some sort of disease on the greens, its a shame as some of the holes looked fantastic but was severely let down by poor drainage on fairways and diseased greens.
While i was over there i phoned Risebridge G.C. which is only a couple of miles down the road and booked a tee time for Saturday at 12.18, the price £9.00 per person as its twilight, half the price Ive just payed for here and its at the weekend. I know which course i would recommend and it ain't Weald Park.

Very cheap but...
... some greens are terrible (particularly the first); bunkers dont have any sand in: they are concrete or weeds growing in.It's ok if need a bit of hitting practice

Nice layout, poor greens
We played as a 4 ball - twilight round for ?20 each. Good value. We were off mat's as too wet. Not great. Fairways were playable, but the greens were slow and bumpy. Guess this time of year there are not many dry Essex courses. Will play a lot better in May- OctReviewer Rating

Very poor, poor management during winter
Greens really long, full of damage. They have let buggies and trolleys on the course so it has damaged the grass with lots of areas basically mud. Couldn’t find a bit of grass to play off of in some areas. Why are buggies allowed out in the middle of winter? The edges of greens are trashed through trolley traffic. Bunkers absolutely unplayable, weeds, ruined by rain, no effort to rake them after rain. Wasn’t happy at all. Staff friendly and clubhouse sufficient, certainly wouldn’t play it again until some care is put in to it. It’s not like the old Brentwood I used to play.Reviewer Rating

Slightly disappointing
Played this a few weeks back and it was a nice place. However, today was not good. The Greens were really slow, the bunkers in a poor condition and the many of the tee boxes were untidy. All a bit disappointing really, even for only £20(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 97 Handicap: 18.3)
