Used to be a golf club

Once upon a time this was a golf club now sadly it is a Function venue that has a golf course attached which is sadly neglected and in poor shape. The staff are rude, the club house manager was possibly the worst. Golf reception was not a pleasant experience either, rude staff to say the least. Car park was a nightmare as space was limited.

Buggies still out on the course after such poor weather as well, it resembled the Somme. New holes didnt add anything to the layout either.

GOOD TEST OF GOLF

There are serious cuts in the fairways at the moment i expect they are for future drainage but it is quite easy to lose a ball in there deep channels but overall a good shape golf course and certainly a tough test.

Many thanks for the review, our drainage lines suffered during the recent heatwaves and dry weather over the Summer months, we are currently in the process of repairing these lines and hope that it will extend the playing year and overall condition of the course in the coming months.

Nice course, a little short of the yellows but well maintained, friendly members and nice clubhouse.

A good course, with a mix of holes. Make your pars where you can because 4, 5 & 6 are particularly challenging.

Good course layout but fairways could be in better condition

Very enjoyable round, interesting layout and variety of holes.
But a huge number of non-replaced divots on the fairways, not sure if the members are leaving these or if they get a large number of inexperienced visitors, would not normally expect this at a private course.
Did not play the main first 9 as some temporary greens and tees due to construction work going on to improve the course, but the alternative first 9 were a good bunch of holes.
A lot of elevation change, will certainly get you fit.
Very good practice area / range with decent value balls.
Fast greens which were in good condition.
Would like to play again once the work on the course is complete, although expect I would spend a lot of time again replacing other people's divots!

Excellent Value

Course was in excellent condition, extremely well kept greens, only problem was that on every hole apart from par 3s, every drive is blind which is difficult on first time playing the course.

Course is in good condition, although exceptionally dry conditions means your ball can travel a long way and not easy to stop the ball on the greens, which are very fast ,meaning not only balls run on but even when on the green it is easy to 3 putt!!

Lovely course with unforgiving heavy rough

A lovely course with beautiful veiws. The course is hilly leading to you having to take blind shots. That with the long but beautiful rough make it a nice but challenging course.

Played on a Saturday starting on the spare back 9 and finishing the regular 10-18. Although the regular holes were markedly better it was still an interesting mix of 18 holes. ?25 for a Saturday morning slot is very good value!!

Really don't understand why this club are not doing more for safety around the course. Playing in front of a group of big hitters saw balls flying over us because they could not see us from the tee. Playing blind shots should mean lots of warning signs on tees and bells to ring when you are out of range.

First time playing the course. Nice condition but to be avoided by the golfer who can hit over 240 yds with a driver. There are a lot of blind approach shots to a lot of the greens, either with shots over a brow of a hill or to a green obscured by trees. There is a huge need for bells to let the players on the tee know that it is clear to play otherwise someone will get hurt. Don't let that put you off playing, just leave the driver in the bag. Friendly staff in clubhouse and pro shop.

Very hilly course in a good condition. Some very nice, scenic holes. Tees, Fairways, Bunkers and greens all in a good condition. Well worth playing if you are in the area.
