Excellent!

We played the weekday 4-ball experience package - Range balls (grass area), Full English, Buggies/GPS Trolleys, green fee & 2-course lunch + 8pints/2Bottels of wine for ?87 each. Best value for money, the food was great, the course plays great and Richard is a fantastic host. All in all, the best pre-wedding day package I could've asked for.

Don't Miss Out! Great course and club

Great club and nice course; many challenging holes, well kept tee boxes, fast greens with friendly members. It was Captain's Day yesterday and we were fortunate to meet many members and the captains, who were friendly and proud to tell us a bit of history of Samuel Ryder.

Proper Club

Haven't played here for a few years and is always a pleasure.
The welcome from their Pro Team was great and the course in stunning condition considering the lack of rain. Greens were so pure, not rapid but with the slopes you face they don't need to be. A couple of beers after with it buzzy in the clubhouse with friendly members and food was really good. Won't leave it anywhere near as long to return, just wish I'd played better!

Historic and beautiful!

Played last week after a lot of rain and 'The Beast from the East'.
We were amazed at how well the course was, pretty dry and the greens putted beautifully and were v quick for time of year. Apparently they have put drainage in on some greens and from our limited knowledge it certainly worked.
We did get held up on a couple of holes as they are installing a system to water bunkers, which we found hilarious as it won't be needed for a while!
Didn't eat but many were, good hospitality and beers in a friendly busy clubhouse.
Walking round seeing the paintings of Samuel Ryder, Abe Mitchell and James Braid was incredible. If you love golfing history or just a really good club then you must visit. We will return, hopefully when it stops raining!

Incredibly good!

Wow, played in a society day and from start to finish everything was terrific!
The welcome from the Pro was great, who showed us into the clubhouse for our breakfast, whilst the lady in the office looked after the admin for us.
Course was incredibly dry considering a lot of rain and the greens were about as good as you can get. So quick and true they were a delight to putt on. The rest of the course is also so well looked after. The only strange thing is crossing the road but I suppose when the course was built it didn't matter with the lack of cars!!
Changing rooms great, with complementary towels waiting for you.
Then our dinner was stunning, presentation and taste. We had pork belly followed by eaton mess & cheese & biscuits. Oh & they sell Doombar!
This a place you must play and we will certainly be returning!!

Course really nice and their greens work carried out over winter training improve drainage on them looks amazing. Those greens are really firm considering how much rain there had been when we played.
Nice layout, easy walking course with good challenging holes, not overly long but it doesn't need length, you can see James Braid was clever in his design.
Didn't play well but all down to me not the course!
Went in for food after and they have a new chef apparently. Tried the fish finger sandwich which was incredible! Lads had a club which looked great.
Friendly staff, served by a bubbly American girl and the Bar Manager who was telling us about more changes they are doing with online booking system being put in, which will help us in future.
Would love to join if only I lived slightly closer.
We will return!

Absolutely beautiful! Stunning greens which were pure & quick, very subtle breaks on them.
Good layout and very well looked after.
Clubhouse lovely, maybe bar is a bit dated but full of character. Well worth a visit, we will definitely be back!

Historic, varied, dare I say slightly quirky in respect of one or two holes, very well kept and the greens were immaculate and very, very challenging (hence my pitiful score)
There are quiet times if you like to feel unhurried, but also plenty going on to get involved with.
The staff are also second to none and I strongly recommend a trip to the pro shop for any equipment requirements, especially now the indoor facilities are finished.
