Magnificent Course.
If you have never played this then get it on your bucket list. There are some truly amazing holes on this course, the 2nd, 5th, just to name 2 on the front 9. Several dogleg style holes so club choice is deffo something you have to choose carefully. You also have the option of a second course if you stay for a couple of days like we did. Get in your car and get down there pronto.Reviewer Rating

2 Good Courses
Played The National 1st and this is a long course to play and can be difficult at times if you're not long off the tee.The Lakes Course is a much nicer course to play but again some really tricky holes and a lovely par 3 to test your skills.

Very enjoyable
We played this course twice. One after a 3 day downpour which made the greens very slow, bumpy and unimpressed but after two days of sun it was like a completely different course and fantastic.Reviewer Rating

Very Enjoyable Course
We played The National and found it an excellent course. The green fee was very reasonable for such a quality well maintained layout. I would recommend a buggy as there is quite a distance from green to next tee. All aspects were good, tees, fairways and greens. Signage is OK, but we got lost looking for the 17th tee. The course Marshall is a real character, very friendly, helped make our day. The food and drinks are good here. Would recommend it wholeheartedly.Reviewer Rating

Approached bar afterwards and was told to sit down and wait for table service, waited 20 minutes for service, couldnt get attention of staff though there were plenty around, so gave up and went to a pub instead!

The National
For £20 a round in November really can't complain. We were paired up with random people to make a 4 ball which was ok I guess. The course itself is fantastic. A bit soft underfoot but to be expected, made replacing divots tricky as the ground often exploded. Greens were a bit bumpy, shame on those not repairing their pitch marks. Also shame on those dropping their rubbish, beers cans and bottles mostly. A beautiful course, in a beautiful setting. Would definitely go againReviewer Rating

Course immaculate, customer service meh
The Lakes course was in stunning condition, greens were true and blemish free, fairways nice and tidy. A little more signage on the course would be welcome to help navigate, but despite being pushed along a marshall we enjoyed the round. No halfway house (COVID) but with forecasted heatwave would have expected either a water bottle buggy around the course or cool boxes etc. around the course. Customer service in clubhouse and hotel very poor (very slow) we took over two hours to complete our 3 course meal and had to remind about food/drink orders a few times.(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 102 Handicap: 22.2)

Brilliant course
If you think playing at your local course and playing here are similar, think again, this course will tear your handicap to pieces if you give it the chance! It did mine! Great course, well looked after, greens were like nothing I have played before, fair but so difficult. Green staff were cutting fairways when we played, as we tee'd off he had moved to the side about 200yards away in behind some trees, after the first tee shot for some reason he reversed somemore!! Fantastic experience but showed I may just not make it to the top! There was some serious money spent here, the Welsh Rugby Union and Cardiff City both have training facilities here so if you're into celeb spotting you may see some although to be honest I wouldn't have a clue who they were! There was some very tidy players, oh and take a buggy its more fun!!Reviewer Rating
