Standard winter golf

A bitterly cold start to the 1045 tee time, and also the low Winter Sun was especially challenging on the first couple of holes and also the closing couple of holes. I was there as part of our works golf Society so we were more interested in having banter with each other and caring about the quality of the course. Having said that if he stayed on the fairway it was a pleasure. It's been quite a few years since I've played the course and a few alterations have made it a bit easier in my opinion. What I was really impressed with was the new short game area that they are working on at the moment (not sure when this will be finished) everybody that I came across was very friendly and helpful. It's nice to have a Marshall on the first tea to show you where to go

Highly recommended.

Well maintained course that prove to be a good challenge. Two feature holes over water par 3 9th and the par 5 18th. Course offers a variety of hole including some reachable par 4's.
Wolud recommended playing atleast once.

Very tricky pin positions

The course was in great condition and the layout was also excellent. The big disappointment was the pin positioning on very tricky slopey greens almost making holing out a lucky dip. Very welcoming staff and a good shop. Good value for money and excellent food overall made a good visit. Would visit again but not too soon.

Good course poor management of speed of play

I have played this course a few times. It isn't the longest but it requires correct placing. The greens are usually excellent and fast. Sadly pace of play is ridiculous. Last and final round because of this spent at least 10 minutes on the tee waiting for 16 holes for slow players ahead. Sadly as stated a regular issue which is why I won't use again

Interesting enough course without being harsh on a mid handicapper. Some 150 yard markers would be helpful though.

With out doubt this course is one of the best that i have ever played a round of golf on. Having never played Ullesthorpe before we arrived and parked up, found the pro shop and collected our cards. Down to the first tee, met by the start official and the game began. The fairways and the greens were in tip top condition and all the fairways had 150 yard trees as well as plates. Of the 18 holes only one proved to be difficult to find this was 16, standing on the tee box its was unsighted beyond a couple of trees on the right and we went direct down the centre of the fairway and noticed it by chance. To be honest the whole course had 18 very good challenging holes and i cant wait to go back for another game, recommend this course to anyone

played on 17/5/13, in league to Dubai match. Some fantastic holes, and hazards at tempting length to carry. Don't be fooled by the yardage of the 4 short par 4s miss in the wrong spot and par is not easy. 9th par 3 is the signature hole but be warned the 10th plays longer than suggests down hill and a big green. so add 1-2 clubs to your original thought. In summer don't go past the flag or your looking at a 3 putt. Course in very good condition, members very friendly.

Good round!

Hadn't played at Ullesthorpe for 8+ years and throughly enjoyed our return
Course was in very good condition. Greens were very slow against the other courses we play but also we found them difficult to read. A good challenge!

Ideal venue for Stay & Play

Stayed for 3 nights and 4 rounds with 11 mates (annual Society event). Great weather afforded us the pleasure of a challenging golf course with plenty of variety for high and low handicappers alike. Accommodation better than adequate and food and bar onsite very good. We would entertain going again in a setting that seems far removed from the industrial hinterland you travel through to access the location.

Good Resort Course

Played as it is midway between where me and my golf buddy live. Paid £40 each and it was well worth the price. It’s probably not the hardest course in the world but it presents a fair challenge to high handicap players and I suspect that would also be the case for mid-handicap players. Food and drink is very reasonably priced.
