Not in the summer
In summer the fairways are terrible, bunkers not raked the morning we played. Greens good.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 106 Handicap: 22.4)

A good course spoiled by walkers
I have played this course lots of the years and as a test of golf it is great with some tricky greens to overcome once you reach them. However, the one real downside is that this course is on public land and therefore there are people lurking on nearly every hole. On the 2nd tee, I had just started my takeaway when someone starting walking across my path. The best bit was I didn't even get a thank you for stopping. You'll enjoy your golf, you won't enjoy having to wait for members of the public who don't have the same etiquette towards you as you do them.Reviewer Rating

Better than expected
I was really impressed with my game at Ufford Park.Having visited only once before - a good few years ago - I was really impressed with how much better the course was this time round, we played in their open comp so the course was set up super tough but it was very fair.
Some of the tee shot require a good bit of thought, you don't need to hit driver everywhere but when you do it feels really demanding - that said we did play from the white tees that were pushed back. From the yellow tee it would be much more friendly.
The fairways were great and bunkers too, the greens were rolling really well and pretty true also.
I think this place gets a bad rep from years gone by, the layout is quirky and condition is really good.
This is a really good course for a stay and play. Its turned into t a course with a hotel, rather than a hotel with a course.

Challenging track
Ufford Park is a well laid-out course with lots of water (12 holes out of 18) and challenging slopes. I found the front 9 significantly harder than the back 9 - I was out in 64 and back in 42 - perhaps not surprising as the second 9 is much shorter. Course in ok condition but a bit wet. Greens had just had fertiliser beads applied which made them a bit of a lottery. Would play again but would be better in spring/summer.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 106 Handicap: 19.7)

We will return. Great course and facilities
Considering the amount of rain we have had over the winter and especially the last month, the course was in really good condition and a credit to the green keeping staff. We enjoyed the layout and the challenge presented by a challenging, but fair design. The welcome in the pro shop was friendly and the pre round breakfast bap is recommended. All in all, an enjoyable day's golf and we may well be back in the future to try out the hotel and golf deals on offer.Reviewer Rating

Excellent all round venue
Really interesting course with no two holes alike, attached to a very good quality hotel and leisure complex. Excellent practice facilities too. It's quite hilly and there's a fair sprinkling of water hazards. The long holes are properly long and the shorter holes all need a great deal of thought. The par threes are very varied from 125 yards, down hill over water, to 200 yards.
Favourite hole? Probably the 15th which is real risk and reward. Not much over 200 yards if you take it on, but do you cut the corner and try to fly the water or lay up?
A good challenge for all levels.

Worth a winter visit
Course is linked to hotel and as such is full of visitors using the hotel in the better weather. The fairways also get very hard in the summer as there is no fairway irrigation. So wouldn't recommend a visit when the weather warms up. The winter is a different proposition as the largely sandy soil means the fairways are in better shape in the winter than the summer. It still suffers from the lack of respect you would get in most 'proper' clubs with numerous pitch marks left unrepaired. The greens left a bit to be desired with a lot of little bare mud patches but all in all pretty good for January. Many trees being removed at the time of visit, presumably to make getting round easier for the casual golfer.Excellent driving range.
Didn't bother with drinks as the last pint of Adnams I had here, tasty like no other Adnams I have drunk before, which is a shame as the previous owner kept very good cask ale.

Greens
Lovely course well set out. Bar & cafe all good, only thing that let the course down was the greens, all greens were very patchy which caused the ball to bobble so putting difficult, everything else goodReviewer Rating

A nice testing course
Beautiful location and well looked after. Only thing near to a complaint is the quality of some of the bunkers. Always worth a visit when in Suffolk.Reviewer Rating
