I played with my two sons taking advantage of their twilight rates which when I arrived was surprised to be told the juniors could play for free. The course was fantastic, with some spectacular par 3's, despite recent rain, in great condition as you would expect of a top links course. The greens were fast but true, so good once you get the speed. All in all a fare test of golf that would challenge anyone, but allow you to enjoy your good shots.

Stunning Links

A great links course with amazing views.
Obviously depending on how strong the wind blows will determined how tough the course plays.

The fairways are fairly wide so its a great course for players of all abilities. The greens are super fast and sometimes easy targets but the pace is the real defense.

The bunkering is designed as such so it will catch a lot of players out both off the tee and around the green.

A great fun course to play in great condition and superb views.

What a gem! Went down with a few other girlies and had a blast. We're all off single figures and the course was sensational; a pure links through and through with some amazing holes and a back drop to dream about. Pretty much the complete golfing holiday with staff who treat you like their family. If you haven't been you should...but please don't tell everyone.

Spent a fantastic three days at Trevose. The course was in amazing condition for November and considering the amount of rain that has fallen in recent weeks. The club was exceptionally welcoming and I am sure we will be back next year.

Outstanding links.

This is not placed un the UK top 100 without good reason, it was in exelent condition, tricky course with stunning views to boot.
The club house, Pro shop and locker rooms are all high quality even the courtyard is a spotless. The course itself is excellent, definitely my favourite Cornish links of the half dozen I have played so far.
On a relatively calm day the course requires thoughtful play with bunkers everywhere and fast multi-tiered greens ready to ruin your score. But on a windy day I should think it would easily frustrate the average golfer.
Finally I have to mention the driving range which unfortunately is not up to the standard of the rest of the venue. There are no distance markers on yhe range and no rubber tees on the mats so you must use your own.. which if they spring forward after a short you must say good bye to or risk entering the line of fire to retrieve them. Also the range is about 400 yards down the raod and downhill from the 1st tee so be sure to leave time to get back and recover if you are warming up!
Fairly pricy at £85 but worth it.

Great course, beautiful location.

This is the most beautiful location to play golf and in such fantastic condition. The European Legends Tour are set to play the course this week and they're in for a treat. It helped that the sun shone and there?s was no more than a gentle sea breeze.
The course is well baked and so very firm, well cut fairways and lightning greens, manicured to perfection.
Can't fault this course or it's staff.

super course the 4th green is the best view in the world

Played during some parched weather so would love to play again when more lush as i'm sure it would look even better.

Trevor Ashton the starter was so friendly and helpful and so knowledgeable about Trevose and many other courses so do say 'hello'.

The course heading down to the beach on 4 is just amazing. Then it reminds me of Nefyn's holes which are set back from the sea too.

The holes are all of a high quality - great looking/super greens. But nothing quirky/sensational/standout like St Enodoc. Just to say all holes are great.

I found the back nine easier suiting a natural drawer of the ball (+2 for the nine).

Like I said on my St Enodoc review if you come down this neck of the woods you simply must play St Enodoc, Trevose and Saunton (East) - all great courses. Hard to pick a favourite as all 3 so different. Go do it - Took 4 hours to drive to St Enodic (with a lunch stop from the midlands) - 3 rounds 2 nights you won;t be disappointed.

There is some amazing looking accommodating on site but never go a chance to check it out as had a 90 minute drive to Croyde to play Saunton on day 3

Always a great course. Very difficult if the wind gets up. Spectacular views but unless you are prepared for the greens they will kill you. They are like glass!!

Played on Saturday 25th Oct.
We paid £57 each for the round which for a top 100 club feels reasonable, the problem is that Trevose is a club living on past glories and is not in the same league as courses like St Enodoc which we played the day before.
The course itself is very forgiving with wide fairways and straight forward greens, the bunkers, whilst incredibly good quality don't come in to play (I play off 12 and didn't go near one all day). Each hole feels very similar to the last with no unique individuality. I could remember every hole at St Enodoc but within 20 minutes of finishing at Trevose could remember 2.
The whole operation feels very commercial which is a real pity as last year when we played the course the whole set up felt very different. The staff were professional and polite but that was it, for £57 I want to feel like its special not another number.
The course itself was undergoing some works with new bunkers and plenty of areas that felt tatty that should have been having work had seemed to have been forgotten. The greens, as you would expect for any links course were great but they didn't make up for what I felt was very poor value for money.
I would not rate this in the top 100 by any means, maybe 30 years ago, but times have moved on and Trevose hasn't.
I won't be returning and with so many courses near by that are cheaper and a better and sterner test of golf I know I won't be missing anything.

Definitely the best course I've ever played on. The layout and the holes were brilliant and we were amazingly lucky to only have a slight sea breeze and beautiful Autumnal sun.

Played the Championship links course and loved it. Breathtaking scenery and super greens. The par 3 3rd green was the only bad one. It slopes severly to the right and it very firm. So your ball just rolls of the green and down the slope into long thick grass. Lost ball, not fair :-(
The twighlight fees are down to £25 from 17:00 and there's plenty of light to play all 18 holes at this time of year (June), weather permiting.

Just returned from this gem and totally agree with former Ryder Cupper, Peter Baker's, claims that there's one word to sum up this place...'great'. Quite unlike any other golfing/all round holiday experience - friendly, welcoming staff, amazing facilities and what a setting. They've also got a new chef on board (ex Rick Stein I believe) who serves up some fantastic food, from posh nosh to more mainstream, against a stunning backdrop. All in all a first class holiday and we will be back next year, if not before (the kids now want to move there!).
