Great course

The course was opened in 1894, so celebrating it's 125 year in 2019. whilst I haven't played it since 2006, my party of 4 played it every year from 1998, and would have played earlier but for them hosting the All Ireland Amateur Championships in 1996, and a clash with their President's day in 1997.

It's not the longest of courses, but requires some planning to keep your score from getting out of hand. The weather can be brutal if anything is coming across the Atlantic (think storms from dying hurricanes!

From all the years we played it, the fairways, bunkers and tees were always in great condition. The clubhouse was delightful, and the staff really helpful. One particular year, the weather was atrocious, but the Pro offered to let us go out and do as few or as many holes as we could manage/want, and then we'd sort out a price when we came off the course. In the event, we enjoyed a few drinks in the clubhouse, and as the weather never improved during that time, we booked another round for a couple of days later.

Having looked at the other reviews, I think the one saying 'it's a new course' must relate to a new 9 holes that were recently built, and so I can only assume that the older reviews have somehow been lost. I certainly remember doing at least a couple during the 9 years we visited.

Nice course for the money at 10 Euro. Two rounds hence 18 holes come in at 15 Euro. Nice clubhouse and facilities.

This is a new course but already it is in excellent condition. It is a real test of golf set in supreb surroundings.
