Great Course

Very happy to have played here.Course in good shape, some very interesting
holes - really making you think about your game, and in between times some
great views to admire.
Need to play it again now knowing more of the ?wrinkles?
Unfortunately practice facilities not open due to Covid-19

Excellent Customer Service

My husband and I played this course in June. I would say this course was ideal for both the high and low handicapper. The course was in excellent condition, the rough was quite punishing but not too punishing and the greens were quick and immaculate, even the sand in the bunkers were just right (not that you want to be in a bunker in the first place). The pace of play was acceptable and we were even let through by the members. Would highly recommend a visit to this course. There was only one slight disappointed as we collect club ball markers and they did not have any at the time. Lester, in the pro shop promised he would send one to me as soon as they came in (I have heard that a few times and it never happens). I did offer to leave him the money for a ball marker but he refused. He was true to his word, not only did he send a poker chip ball marker, he sent a pitch repair with a ball marker in it and a tee bag. What a lovely gesture, not often seen anymore! A big thank you to Torquay Golf Club

I played Torquay and very much enjoyed my round. I played ok at times. The greens ran true tees good and fairways great. The views are stunning and the course is forgiving. I will play this course again. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful course played in perfect conditions. The mid-section includes some of the most memorable and beautiful holes that I have played to date. It was just a shame that the last 5 holes were a bit boring compared to the rest of the course.

The course was well maintained and fairly challenging with some amazing views overlooking Torquay. We played under heavy rain and gusty wind, however this didn't spoil the golf in the slightest.

Sunny Rivierra was promised - wow, our society visit was held in early June, hey High Summer - somebody forgot to tell Torbay though, Force 6 winds and heavy rainy drizzly stuff ( they call it mizzle in the west Country!) meant that we were well drenched to the skin. However, the course held up well, and what a lovely and surprising course, truly a gem that i suspect has played second place to the other local and scenic courses of bigbury, thurleston, Churston, Dartmouth etc, but I would put certainly on an equal to any in the area. What did surprise was to how high it went although the climb to the top of the "mountain" was gentle and continuous, so no real heart attack hills. Mind you, the two holes at the top were well windy, with little protection from any direction. After a fine downhill and friendly opening hole and a good par 3 second, there are a couple of occasions where it can be a bit "up and down" but it is not repetative and all holes are a challenge in their right.
All in all, I would strongly recommend a visit to Torquay GC if in the area, the course is a fine challenge, in good condition, the welcome in all areas is superb and the food, and the atmosphere is completely first class - no I am not a member, i have played over 400 courses, and this as all all round friendly welcome and quality of course is as good as most.

The staff at the Clubhouse and Clubshop couldn't do enough for us.
We were there on our companies 20th aniversary and they couldn't do enough.
Do yourselves a favour and book a game.
Highly recommended.

Played this course for the first time today in glorious spring weather (which helps!) and I must say it is extremely nice. Only one par 5 and the length isnt massive though there are some very challeninging par 4's and 3's. Despite the greens having been spring treated just a week earlier they played fine and the overall condition was excellent.
Very friendly bar, good catering and made very welcome by the members I met!

Torquay is in the process of having various holes re designed but even with that going on the course in my oponion has vever been better.

The groundstaff are doing a great job as wellas the relevant comitee members

Catering is always an emotive subject but I think Torquay have now got this sussed all is adequate

The Pro shop with its new computer aided gismo will have huge benefits to members and guests alike.
