Fantastic course with fast greens and well kept fairways. A nice mix of short and long par 4s. The stretch of holes from 10 to 14 is tough. Navigate your way safely past that and you're in for a good round!

Best course I have played so far in Essex, greens amazing and tee boxes looked after well. Being a mid to high handicap golfer it was a difficult course but a few great shots made it great. We will definitely be returning

very good course in good condition, golf shop could be friendlier but all good and would join as a memeber

Great course
The clubhouse is currently being renovated but the temp building is nice. The range needs a bit of work but hitting off turf is great to see. The putting green was in great condition and was running very quick.The last 3 holes and the tee boxes let the course down. But the scenery, the fairways, greens and rough was brilliant. I?d strongly recommend this course. Playing off the yellows, some of the holes were a bit short, eg 2 par 4s around 250-270 yards.

Good track
Toothill is a great little county course, with challenging holes and easy holes. The par-3?s are really good, especially those that have water on them. The greens are really good, fast, but need a little bit of water to make them more receptive.It is a great value for money course from Monday to Thursday (?25), but no Twilight rounds which is disappointing. Friday Saturday and Sunday I think the course is too expensive compared to local courses in the area such as Burstead.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, not sure about the golfers
Played on a wet winters day. Course was in fantastic condition considering the weather and staff were friendly. Can't say that for some of the golfers. Having abuse shouted across the course despite playing 18 holes in three and a half hours left a sour taste in the mouth.Reviewer Rating

Played this course a lot this year due to being on Furlough. It's a great course and always enjoyable apart from today?s round. Here?s my reason.....TootHill offer a 2 week online booking in advance which is great. I took advantage of that and booked yesterday?s round 2 weeks ago. You then get a sms and email reminder of your tee time the night before your round, which is also great. I turn up yesterday with my trolly and see no trolleys are allowed, which meant I had to carry my cart bag around the course which was hard work.
My gripe is - when messaging me a reminder of my tee times, why didn't they add a course update to say carry only! As it's been carry only for the last few days apparently. I did speak to the staff in pro shop about this and he said it's on our website stating carry only. But as I booked two weeks in advance I didn't look at the website again after my booking. I asked the pro shop if they had any only carry bags to borrow and I can leave a deposit but was only offered to buy a carry bag marked up for ?99 but can buy it for ?90. Which I didn't do as I have a carry bag but at home.
I think it be very useful if the club adds a course status on their tee time reminder message re trolleys, carry only etc...
The course is great and for ?22.50 midweek it's great value.

Pros - Superb short course with super fast green. Also well laid out. Fairways have irrigation. Excellent value for a premium experience.\\Cons - no bar/food facilities but teh Green Man less than 1/4 a mile away and is an excellent pub. Pitch marks on greens from casual/lazy pay and play golfers.\\Will definitely return and would be a member in a heart beat if lived closer.

Beautiful and a challenging course! One of the best courses our society has played on. Would play it all the time however I doubt if any of us will come again. We had a society day booked months in advance, agreed price, number of tees with a very large attendance then couple of weeks before are told the price has increased. This is after all our members have paid up their fees which left us in with a massive shortfall. The staff went back on what was agreed. In our view their behaviour was nothing short of a disgrace. As organisers of the society it left us in a difficult position to either stuck with the booking or seek alternate venues at a such short notice for so many people. Considering once our members knew what course was booked they must have played well over 50 rounds before the society day. With all that traffic coming their way the staff still wouldn\'t honour what was agreed. It felt like they didn\'t really want us there in the first place. As a golf society it was one of our worst day and we\'ll certainly not be going back. However Toot Hill Golf course itself is a little gem.Reviewer Rating

Fabulous Course
Absolute quality course, greens are perfect, rough is penal but fair, my junk shots were rightly punished. Absolutely worth a visit, I sincerely hope the rumours of it being sold are false.I will most definitely be back.
